Gutted!!

Checked in to an expensive room to find the view from the window was a brick wall about 6 foot away. To the left of that brick wall was a covered outside area for the staff so plenty of chatting can be heard with the window open. The bed was 2 single beds/mattresses pushed together. Definitely not the gorgeous views promised on their website! The only good thing was that they offered a full refund when we left 30 minutes after our arrival. It is on the lake so a great location, but only if your lucky enough not to get the budget room with NO view!

Herrlicher Aufenthalt in wunderbarer Umgebung

Weilte 5 Tage im Hotel The Coniston Inn. Die Lage des Hotels, unmittelbar in Seenähe und etwas ausserhalb vom Ort Coniston (kurzer Fussmarsch) gelegen, ist schlicht wunderbar. Sehr ruhige Lage, eine Bus-Haltestelle vor dem Hotel und eine grosse Gartenanlage mit Sitz- und Erholungsgelegenheiten. Das Gebäude ist ein typisch englisches Landhaus. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Im Zimmer habe ich mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Toll auch, dass man im Zimmer über einen Wasserkocher mit Tee- und Kaffee-Vorräten verfügen kann. Das Frühstück ist grandios. Sehr zu empfehlen sind die Eier-Gerichte (im Frühstückspreis enthalten). Auch im Restaurant habe ich einige Male gegessen. Es hat Pub-Charakter, was ich als sehr angenehm empfunden habe.

Een bijzonder leuke locatie. Heel rustige ruime tuin aan het water. Wel jammer dat er picknicktafels staan. Ook geen airco op de kamer en in het restaurant geen ober die de bestellingen voor drinken en eten kwam opnemen. Een heel mooi restaurant.

Great place. Saw it on ‘Harry’s Garage’ Coniston has amazing history. Went to the Riskin Museum to see Bluebird K7. Good parking.

Manager was super helpful and kind. He checked my tire pressure for me, gave me great directions for my hike, and let me check out a bit later as I wasn’t feeling well.
