It needs thorough renovation

The hotel is in a terrible stay and needs an overhaul. Frontal areas was painted, some bathrooms were renovated but overall it feels like a building about to fall apart.

Not Great

I don't know what the man building is like, but if you are stuck in the Annex, then this is not a great place to be. Building is very run down, carpets are filthy and rooms are not good.

The Hotel is in a state of repair. It needs cleaning and alot of work.the member if staff on check in was helpful. The key safe to get in doesnt work took over 15 mins to open. Mold in the shower. The carpet need cleaning.

On the positive side, the property was kept clean and tidy with evidence that some effort had been made to keep rooms modern in a number of ways. However, the basic problems would be harder to resolve, particularly noise where walls are 'paper thin'. It is disconcerting to have to listen to someone urinating in another room. There was extensive noise from outside which inhibited any chance of sleep. One room was described as 'large' which was far from the truth, whilst another had a broken window that could not be closed. Outside, the grounds looked as if they had no seen a gardener for a long, long time. Disappointing.

Very very very dissatisfied!

I’m extremely disappointed with my stay and wish I had read the reviews beforehand. The property’s photos must be outdated, as they do not reflect its current state. The receptionist was friendly and welcoming, but unfortunately, that was the only positive. The hotel is a significant misrepresentation of what was advertised. The grounds are in poor condition—overgrown, littered, and neglected—far from a 3-star standard. The rooms are adequate but need a complete overhaul, including new carpets and bathroom upgrades. For the price, this hotel was not worth it. A stay at a budget chain like Travelodge for half the cost would have been a better choice. I feel let down by Hotels.com and urge you to send an inspector to assess this property. How do I go about a refund?

10/10 Exceptional

Excellent staff. Property was very clean but a few minor points needed repair/updating. I could hear a lot of sounds from the people in the room next door. Generally very comfortable and met all my needs.

Shocking

The gentleman was very nice but the rooms were absolutely shocking, we had three rooms booked one family room that they didn’t have, they switched the worst room for us but that wasn’t much better but it didn’t have hairs in the bed I had to put shoes on to go to the bathroom in the night as the carpet was dirty we tried to get in another hotel locally but couldn’t find three rooms

Great Value,

Clean and comfortable accommodation in a convenient part of town at a good price. Very good value, I was well pleased.

6/10 Good

A convenient place to stay before an early flight from Manchester airport. Reasonably priced, efficient service at reception. A very small room, ok for one night with an early departure the next morning, but I wouldn't have wanted a longer stay in that particular room.

8/10 Very good

The Normanhurst

As per other reviews the hotel is great for a short 1 to 2 night stay. The twin room was comfortable, but the deco was tired. Stayed for 2 nights, towels weren't changed, nor bins emptied! On the plus side there was a microwave and fridge in the room. Had breakfast both mornings. Full English at cost of £10.95, which was nice. In short hotel is ok for a short stay.
