Lovely welcome upon arriving, nice bedroom with all the amenities, did not have dinner but had a lovely breakfast with friendly service, the only thing that I was disappointed in was the toilets in the bar area where the cubicle didn't have a lock and it wasn't exactly clean in there, all in all would recommend a stay as good location for everything including train station and nice and quiet at night.

Friendly and welcoming staff on arrival and during our stay. A pleasant and well located Hotel/Pub that met our needs. Room was small, but it says that in the description, so no complaints from us unlike others who obviously hadn't bothered to read the room descriptions. Comfortable bed and decent pillows which were most welcome. Would stay again.

Room was small, no room for wardrobe or drawers and just three hangers. Our room was located by kitchen extractor fan and had noise from hot water boiler or pipe work throughout the night and early morning. The room needs updating, bathroom - cracks in wall and sink, bath/shower had black mould around fittings and the only shelf above sink wasn’t level so everything fell off. The carpet in room was frayed and pillows on bed so soft your head hit the mattress. Breakfast was bad - first morning had full English which listed sourdough but instead got cheap white and forgot two items on menu. Second morning opted for eggs Benedict, menu said maple cured ham on English muffin - we got toasted cheap white and crispy bacon, spoke to waitress who said they had run out of muffins and ham - no communication. The bar is well overdue a refurb, feels a bit prison like, not very warm and cosy. One thing we did like were the staff, very welcoming, warm and friendly and helpful. I would recommend the staff communicate and get the hotel rooms and food sorted as it’s brilliantly located and could be great.
