Will be requesting refund. Originally booked a 2 queen room for my partner and our 2 boys. Boys didn’t want to come so I called and asked to swap to a simple king. Person I talked to said that shouldn’t be a problem but there would be a $40 up charge, this was fine. The person I talked to said they were putting us into a king, top floor, ocean view and gave me the new price. When I checked in the next day the room I was told was reserved for me the day prior was “not available” and “there’s no note from anyone about the room change” which was weird considering the upcharge was on the reservation. The hot tubs were “out of service” which was part of why we had booked at that particular location. At this point, I was frustrated and without prompting, we were “upgraded” to a different location. This location was filthy, and the balcony and entry walkway were rotting through the wood.
I will NEVER book with that hotel again.
