What an absolute blessing to be able to stay at the Eagle's nest. From start to finish it was amazing.
The main lodge for check in is off the paved road and easy to find. I received some information on the activities to do, route to the cabin, wifi codes and meal times.
The cabins are a short drive on a small sandy path around the corner of the mountain, about 10 minutes, and easy to do in regular car. Signage is well done, even at night. Just go slow because of the speedbumps and because there are cute chameleons in the area that may cross.
There are several cabins spaced out, each with their own character. The stone masonry is amazing, inside and out. It is basically a whole apartment with full kitchen, 2 amazing beds, a little seating area, dining table, fireplace, front porch, warm shower.
Electricity works well, there's a fridge and a fan for cooling You can purchase several drinks or snacks from the room if you like.
The view from the cabin window is stunning. Nighttime provides amazing star gazing.
The food at the restaurant is the best I've had in Namibia. Great vegetarian options. Staff is very well trained. Just the salad bar alone is a whole meal.
The owner knows a lot about the local animals. I rented an ebike and he helped me get into a locked part of his property to look for bat eared fox. Mission complete: I saw four!
There are a lot of hiking opportunities near by.
Once they get wifi in the cabins, I'll be in there for a month and won't come out haha
