The hotel was clean and staff helpful. Breakfast was good with ample choice. Dinner menu was excellent and my only comment was that service was slow at dinner. The bar was good with plenty of choice. If I am in Skipton again I will have no hesitation in using this hotel.

Clean room, friendly and efficient staff. Dining room has been refurbished. Breakfast was mundane, nothing interesting and only sliced bread. I preferred when your breakfast was brought to your table, rather than self service. A good nights sleep in a comfort bed in a quiet room. The canal side view side is the best for peace!

Wonderful welcome from very helpful staff. The dining area and the breakfast itself were faultless. The room was tired but I've seen a lot worse and the hotel made it clear that they are in the process of updating everything - if the dining area and bar are anything to go by, this hotel will be superb in a couple of years. The room was very comfy and warm enough. The pool area also needs some updating. It was nice to have but the jacuzzi looked like it had been out of action for quite some time - a real shame. This area could be great if invested in.

10/10 Exceptional

We had 2 nights booked and wished we’d booked longer. This is our 3rd time at this hotel and we love it. Staff are always helpful if needed. It’s very relaxed and we were upgraded with our room, it’s like a small apartment. We had to change the arrival day, the hotel was very helpful and we even got an upgrade. The overall price was reduced.

As we arrived the reception staff were very helpful. Family room was spacious and clean. Nice location by the canal and a short walk in to the town of Skipton. Evening entertainment was very good and the bar was very nice. If we're ever up there again we'd definitely stay again.

When we arrived we were checked in by a very pleasant lady who made everything clear and simple We entered our room and the room was very spacious and clean after unpacking we headed for the bar which was very nice too and the bar staff were very friendly and polite all in all we had a great overnight stay

6/10 Good

Hotel is a quiet dated. Rooms were very hot and didnt have fans or fridges. If roadside you have a lot of noise from the traffic and Indian restaurant next door seems to let fireworks off around 11pm onwards Bathroom looks to be from the 1980's. Shower was very weak. Breakfast buffet is quiet basic Staff are friendly.

10/10 Exceptional

My room was a good size and very clean and the view from the window was that of the Leeds/ Liverpool canal where I watched some of the beautiful Swans along with some geese glide by in the evening. From booking in and until I left the hotel I found the staff to be very helpful. There was plenty of choice when it came to my breakfast. So I will be suggesting to family and friends that if they are thinking of going to visit Skipton then they should stay at The Skipton Hotel

Superb location beside the canal. Conservatory restaurant overlooking beautiful hillside and the canal and serving full selection of food at moderate price. Lovely evening meal. Breakfast was excellent. Relaxing lounge with entertainment very much enjoyed. Room was very small and in need of an upgrade but we understand this is ongoing. A box of tissues would have been a useful extra. Bed very comfortable and room quiet. Staff all very hardworking and skilled at their job. A very enjoyable night’s stay.

Our 1 night stay was fine ...a very warm night and the hotel had a sepperate electric fan in the room... the a/c was not working at all so this fan was a life saver ! The breakfast was lovely and we used the pool which was also enjoyable but small things like plastic bags to take your wet swim costumes is a simple addition .. overall a nice stay in a hotel that needs an upgrade 😌
