Hotel was situated in quiet area within easy walking distance to shops restaurants and main attractions.The staff were helpful and friendly particularly the lady in the breakfast room. Hotel Medieval was a delight. We loved it! The value for the money is incredible. The location is perfect. Loved our room. The staff is excellent. Everything is very welcoming, from walking into the front door to the carafes of water to the room itself. You really feel like you are in the heart of an old city, and this small hotel is lovely. I loved opening the windows and looking over the roof tops to the Palace area. We could see the top of the cathedral. We were not surprised to find out that it had been a Cardinal's home/place hundreds of years ago. The staff was exceptional. Helping us with parking options before we got there and making sure everything was OK every time we walked in and out the door. They also recommended a quiet square about 2 blooks away for dinner. We had the best meal we had in 3 weeks in France and Italy there, and we went back the next night to another great restaurant in that square. Highly, highly recommend!

The hotel has no parking and sits in a restricted access zone with electronic bollards which if the staff advised customers in advance it would cause much less stress. Plus one car parking garage is 400metres but over old cobbled streets wheres another is 300metres with flat well maintained surfaces ( for luggage transport) The hotel is in an excellent central and quiet street . The staff were in general very helpful and the hotel internally and rooms were very modern and comfortable. Breakfast is somewhat limited and depends what time of the morning you wish to eat. We enjoyed our stay.

Overall, it's not a bad hotel. Good location for exploring Avignon, just a short stroll to the Pope's Palace, plenty of places to eat nearby. It's an old building with plenty of character. As it's in the old town there is very limited transport nearby, but it's only 10-15 minutes walk to the station and the other benefits of the location outweigh that minor disadvantage. The only problem we had was that it was quite noisy. We seemed to be overlooking the main AC and kitchen so there was a constant drone even with the windows closed. The internal AC unit also wasn't the quietest, but at least it was effective. Only other minor problem was to do with housekeeping who were a bit lax. One day they removed the towels but didn't leave replacements, and both shampoo and shower gel ran out and weren't replaced until we asked. We didn't eat, but the breakfast looked popular. Plenty of places nearby to eat or pick up pastries, including the market hall.

The room was 26C when we arrived but they got the air-conditioning working in about 20 minutes. A fire alarm went off at 8:00 AM when a guest burned toast.
