Staff were so friendly and easy to talk to. The place is amazing and I enjoyed my overnight stay for work. The hut I stayed in was small and tired however I had a comfortable night and a great breakfast in the morning and the price was excellent. Will definitely stay again if I am in the area.

Me and my husband stayed in Jill hut for a night and it was so lovely. Yes small as expected but super clean! Staff were really friendly and accomodating in the restaurant whihc was really quirky and fun. Would love to come back again to have dinner and walk around the grounds!

I was under the impression that we were booking a glamp site but ended up in the guest house. It was fine but that was our disappointment. the room was ok, bed could use replacing, could feel the springs,but very much a cottage experience. The breakfast was delicious.

Overall an enjoyable stay, Had a very good night’s sleep, bed comfortable and the room was clean, well furnished, tastefully decorated with some pleasantly quirky touches, generally a relaxing environment to spend time in. Breakfast was good. Bedroom being in a basement was a surprise, particularly given that the room was advertised as having a garden view, and there was quite a strong musty / damp smell in the room.

Room wasn't very clean. Pulled out the sofa bed and it was full of crumbs and dirt. Other areas of the shepherds hut unclean too. The worst thing was the noise from other guests in the nearby huts until 3am! Guests should be given a noise curfew. We woke up exhausted. Breakfast was perfect and the restaurant is lovely.

We had a wonderful stay at the Shepherd Hut. We stayed in Jet. The hut itself is looking a bit tired - the front door didn’t shut fully and signs of age. Overall it was cosy, warm and clean. When we arrived there was a large party staying in one of the large huts and they were playing loud music all night. This really ruined the atmosphere - such lovely surrounding spoilt. Felt sorry for those who had paid extra for a hot tub. My children could hear the music still through the night. Staff were amazing though- great service and very friendly!

The basement room, room 7, was very quirky, clean, spacious and comfortable. The extractor fan in bathroom wasn't working though and there was a damp, musty smell. I reported it to maintenance as there are no opening windows in the bathroom, so the moisture needs to escape somewhere. The TV was not working, which looked like signal issues as the channels were all saved. The breakfast was delicious and good value. The bar and seating areas and grounds and lake were interesting and very comfortable. Would definitely come back.

This was our third weekend in a row staying at Heart House. It is the perfect getaway. The lodges are spacious, clean and fully equipped. Lia on reception has been amazing. Always accommodating us and greeting us with a warm welcome. The staff in the Quicken Tree are also amazing and I couldn’t fault any of the food we ate in there. It’s also great value for money. We can’t wait to return

The room had not been cleaned for a while and it was a bit evident. We had cobwebs in all four corners, hair that was not ours on the furniture, missing plug in the sink, mould in the bathroom, the wallpaper on the ceiling peeling, dust on all furniture and picture tops, carpet not hoovered and handprints on the bathroom door. It was cheap, breakfast was good, it served a purpose, but I wouldn't stay again.

Needed to be at NEC on short notice and hotels were crazy prices. So I took a gamble and it paid off! Simple cabin all amenities good bed and no noisy neighbours, no lifts and doors banging at all hours. I’d taken earplugs & didn’t need them - basic - simple and relaxing! Perfect! Only annoyance was having an excellent cooked breakfast with table service instead of wandering aimlessly around a buffet! Great value and a real change from bland uniformity or chains that try too hard!

Amazing two night stay. The David Pod was excellent beautiful views astonishing. Breakfast was fantastic,staff so happy and friendly. Loved every minute perfect stay and weather was great. Will be booking again it’s our 6 stay there and we can’t fault it.

To start with the staff I dealt with were amazing and the breakfast was so good. However, when we arrived the pod was filled with 10 to 15 flies which we had to remove before we could sleep as they were all over the bed. The bed was rock hard. Despite following all the information on how to heat the shower, it never got warm. We booked a family sized pod and when we arrived it was tiny. The room had a kitchen and we had brought some food with us to cook as was arriving late. The amenities were, 1 knife and 1 fork. No plates or anything, what was the point in a microwave etc? The room was always either boiling or freezing never comfortable. Would not stay here again!

Wow what a hidden Gem, quirky but brilliant. We will definitely be returning! The staff were amazing, so accommodating and friendly, the breakfast was delicious! Just wished we had more time to enjoy the place more!
