A unique cottage within a campground. Loved the personal hot tub in the back. We enjoyed exploring all of the nature trails on the river behind us. Didn't love the sulphur smell in the water in our cottage, but could be normal for this area.

Please renovate the property it is very old and dingy. Please provide a hair dryer. I paid the same amount as my stay at foss hotel but the propertybwas horrific. I was not comfortable because it is old, dingy. It is not dirty but change the towels, get rid of the old red couch. Pls update it

Inaccurate description on hotels.com

The description on hotels.com indicated a private bathroom. I’d assume this would mean it has a shower! No indication there was no shower. Otherwise cabin was nice, brand new. Property littered with construction materials.

The cottage was cute with a workable kitchen. The bathroom/shower was very small. We did not use the hot tub as we arrived late. There is a phone number posted on the main building door to call when you arrive. We had an Esim with data only so could not call the number. There was not a WhatsApp number. We were lucky that another person was checking in and had contacted the manager. Staff were pleasant.

Did not meet expectation at all. Very, very disappointing. Just don’t if you have any other choice. We loved every accommodation around the Ring Road except this one. Broken windows and blinds, stinky water, poor communication and not at all as described.

This was the most spacious place we stayed out for our entire trip to Iceland, which was a welcome change of pace. The cottage itself was wonderful. We paid extra for a cottage with a hot tub, but the hot tub experience was not what we had expected. We had to fill it, which required an employee to do this for us as we could not figure out the written instructions (and that is on us and is not their fault) ... but when we went out to the hot tub after it was filling up, it had lots of hair, dirt, and dead bugs floating in the water. We felt like if we were paying extra for the hot tub, that is should be clean and ready for us to use. Otherwise, there were no complaints at all.

Upon arrival, there is a note to notify someone at a certain phone number for check in as NO ONE was on site or in the office. All fine in dandy for a local... But as I was a tourist from another country, WHY WOULD YOU EVEN THINK that could be done!!! Pretty bonehead note on door. So I waited at the the door for an hour. Luckily,,, someone else showed up. That person had a phone... What Einstein, would think someone from another country could get on email. If management wants a phone call,,, put a phone than either put a phone on outside door, how else can I call

Not what’s in the pics

The pics showed a cottage with wood walls, twin and double sized beds. So we got a modular home, which I would have accepted if the place wasn’t cold with only the built in fireplace in the living room to heat it up. Thankfully there was a space heater in the teens room. The beds that were supposed to be twin size were much smaller than twin size. The refrigerator wasn’t working and we had bought food so I stored our food in the car at night. There were 4 of us. By the time my husband took a shower in the morning the hot water ran out and he showered with cold water… on the grounds there were cottages that looked like the pics, so make sure that’s what you are getting coz what we got was not good:-(

Just wanted to experience staying in a cottage in Iceland, so had no high expectations. Good location, good price, nice river views, decent size with two bedrooms, and reasonably clean. It’s an old-style cottage with a well-equipped kitchen. Free WiFi, a private bathroom, and a private hot tub were nice bonuses. Very peaceful and tranquil. The only downside was the check-in instructions. We had to call the host, an elderly man who looks like Santa Claus (so no complaints—he might not be very tech-savvy...). It’s better to head to the reception house and call the host directly to ask for the number of the hut that has been assigned. The “Santa Claus” host’s contact number is posted on the glass entrance door. He will tell you the hut number and arrange for someone to show you how to fill the hot tub with water. As for the WiFi, there’s a white router box on the windowsill. Just scan the QR code on the bottom, and you’ll be connected to the WiFi. No password is needed. All in all, a pleasant stay. The size of the accommodation and the location are fantastic.
