Just wanted to experience staying in a cottage in Iceland, so had no high expectations. Good location, good price, nice river views, decent size with two bedrooms, and reasonably clean. It’s an old-style cottage with a well-equipped kitchen. Free WiFi, a private bathroom, and a private hot tub were nice bonuses. Very peaceful and tranquil.
The only downside was the check-in instructions. We had to call the host, an elderly man who looks like Santa Claus (so no complaints—he might not be very tech-savvy...).
It’s better to head to the reception house and call the host directly to ask for the number of the hut that has been assigned. The “Santa Claus” host’s contact number is posted on the glass entrance door. He will tell you the hut number and arrange for someone to show you how to fill the hot tub with water.
As for the WiFi, there’s a white router box on the windowsill. Just scan the QR code on the bottom, and you’ll be connected to the WiFi. No password is needed.
All in all, a pleasant stay. The size of the accommodation and the location are fantastic.
