The room decor was unique and wonderful, but the facilities felt tired and the experience fell short of the "wow" we expected given the price and reputation of the hotel.
Good: The bed was comfortable, the jacuzzi tub worked well. The room murals and appearance was amazing. Breakfast (brought to our room) was very good.
Disappointing: In many places the painted murals were damaged and worn. The walls had gouges, paint on the closet door knobs and wall switch plates was worn off and never repainted. The pole lamp in the bedroom didn't work - the switch was broken. The four toiletry bottles for shampoo, lotion, etc. were four different brands, making it look like a bargain grab bag. The glass top for a tree stump table was missing one rubber bumper, so the glass tipped whenever you leaned on that side. The massage table was provided without any sheets or towels - just a vinyl table. The bathroom fixtures - mirror, showerhead, cabinet - looked to be decades old and tired. And so on.
For the price, we expected a premium experience, and it fell short. We have wanted to stay at an Anniversary Inn for a long time. It was good, but not excellent, experience as we expected.
