My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. The location, parking, food and front of house service were just great.
Sadly my wife woke on the first morning with a bite on her flank on the side she sleeps. Over the next few days this developed into multiple bites, on the same left side. I contacted the manager, and explained that these were consistent with bed bug bites, and that we had stayed nowhere else over the last 2 months except at home.
The manager dismissed the bites as not necessarily due to bed bugs. I have worked as an NHS doctor for 40 years, and said that the timing, distribution and nature of the rash was entirely consistent with bed bugs.
At no time was an admission made that this may have been due to our stay in the hotel. The manager said that no bugs were visible, even though bed bug larvae and shed exoskeleton are invisible to the naked eye. I contacted the parent company, Kaleidoscope Hotels, who have not replied. It is very sad that the hotel feel unable to admit the potential that this happened in their hotel.
