To start on a positive note, the staff was very friendly and kind. Unfortunately, our overall experience with the hotel, the room and the communication with management/owner was disappointing.
We stayed in the Libro d’Oro suite, and upon arrival, one of the toilets was already broken. We were told it couldn’t be fixed during our stay. After just one night, the second toilet also stopped working, leaving us with no functioning toilets in the room. Initially, no solution or assistance was offered and we were left without working facilities for an entire day. Only after that day did they manage to find someone to fix them, something that was supposedly not possible before.
Given the high price of the room and the poor condition of the facilities, we asked to speak with the hotel management to discuss a solution or possible compensation. Despite several attempts, no one was available and although they promised to be present at checkout, no one showed up. There was no sense of accountability or hospitality. They proceeded to charge us the full amount (with a minimal discount for only one broken toilet) without our agreement or consent, even though we had made it clear multiple times that we wanted to discuss the matter first.
On top of that, the swimming pool area was overcrowded with very limited shade and the surrounding area had little to offer in terms of activities or sights. Overall, for the price we paid, the experience was disappointing and not worth the money.
