Great location, short walk to Van Gogh/Rijksmuseum/transportation stops(bus/tram); Helpful staff; great breakfast ( extra price but reasonable); its an older hotel, some wear, but clean and inviting. Would stay again!

8/10 Very good

Overall our stay was wonderful. The room was clean, staff friendly and helpful and the breakfast very good. It’s only a short walk to food and shopping which is why the hotel area is quiet. However some updating is in order and expected given the current rates which are somewhat inflated.

10/10 Exceptional

The breakfast for extra fee was well worth it, not easy to find other restaurants near by. Had a lift and staff willing to help with luggage. It was warm, but a fan was provided to cool room, no a/c. Great location to museums, trams and shops. Would definitely stay again. Staff very helpful and kind.

The Owl Hotel is a delightful, cozy, and well located hotel. The reception desk is manned 24-7 and everyone was very friendly and helpful. The Owl theme decor was fun and Basel the cat was the best amenity. The hotel is in an older building and has its idiosyncrasies, but suited our family quite well for our time in Amsterdam.

6/10 Good

I loved most of this hotel, but the three stars were for a few key things- first, if you are a light sleeper, this is not the place for you. It is incredibly loud inside, you hear every single door shut for your floor, and the one above and below your floor. Second, the beds are very firm, so if that’s your thing, it’s perfect. Lastly, the shower is just weird. The curtain is hung a few inches too far in, so you’re really limited on your space in there, in spite of it being a large shower. And there were no grippers in the tub, so it’s relatively slippery. Outside of that, the staff was amazing, the location is great, and the on-staff cat was such a nice plus.

A wonderful surprise, this boutique hotel was a great place to stay while visiting Amsterdam. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms cozy and comfortable after a day on the town. It was quiet, good for a nap while recovering from jet lag. The location is great, close to interesting streets of restaurants, the main museums and the trams for visiting the rest of Amsterdam.
