Excellent, smart but homely

Have stayed here half a dozen times now. Comfortable, lovely rooms. Lovely customer service lady Winona, falls over herself to make stay comfortable. Good price for a lovely stay. Stayed twice on this last trip.

Great hotel in Tvm

Hycinth hotel is a lovely, centrally located hotel in Trivandrum. The staff are friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The breakfast buffet has a great variety of food! Conveniently located on Manorama Road, close to train station and cbd. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. Will definitely stay here again!

Service/hygiene/cleanliness was excellent. Room condition could be improved. Had issues with TV in the room (with the set-up box) frequently. Other than this, every other aspect was great, especially the sumptuous breakfast! All in all, would say, very happy with stay.

Location is good. Staff are all very attentive. My bedroom suite for very big and very clean. Excellent range of toiletries. My only negative feedback is that there was bad faulty smell emitting from the wash basin area whenever i turn on the tap and use the sink. Please rectify this. Not pleasant to be washing your face with bad smell coming out from the sink.

Items vanished from my room; no support provided.

Stuff went missing from my room; the management blatantly lied to me that they would get back to me about it and they never did. No closure. Losing my stuff is one thing, being gaslit by staff is another.

Friendly hotel staff and choice of food at restaurant.I succumbed to their billboard size spa service ads plastered on elevators. I decided to get mani pedicure. The attendant didn’t have implements or more than 3 nail polishes- mani pedi was a joke. I complained to the hotel manager but no follow up, very disappointed.

Overall Impression While the general condition of the hotel is satisfactory and the staff were initially helpful, several serious lapses in hygiene, housekeeping, and data privacy protocols negatively impacted my stay. 1. Food Safety & Hygiene Concerns During a visit to the downstairs restaurant , I observed approximately 10 to 15 fruit flies resting on the handles of two trays containing sweets. Staff Response: I immediately brought this to the attention of two staff members on duty. Regrettably, no corrective action was taken, and the staff appeared indifferent to the issue. Impact: This lack of urgency is highly disappointing and raises significant concerns regarding hygiene and food safety standards. 2. Housekeeping & Amenities The room supplies provided were insufficient for a double occupancy. The quantity of items remained limited throughout the stay, which was inadequate to accommodate the needs of two guests. 3. Data Privacy & Documentation Policy Upon check-in, I raised several specific questions regarding the handling of my passport copy, yet the front desk team was unable to provide any information regarding your internal policies. Retention Plan: What is the hotel’s official policy for retaining guest identification? Access Control: Who within the organization has access to these copies? Disposal Protocol: When and how is this sensitive data destroyed? The fact that front-line staff are unaware of data protection procedures is a matter of serious concern
