Friendly staff

The first thing I have to mention is the excellent staff. Every one of them was polite, attentive and helpful and communicated well in spite of the language barrier. I didn’t speak a word of French but they did their best to communicate in English and they did a great job. Garden and City has lots of common spaces to hang around after a hard day of hiking. Host was terrific. Very comfortable room and good breakfast.

Lovely house on the side of the hill. Just three rooms. We were very well fed and very well taken care of by the owner and her family. I loved being able to sit out and look at the mountains and hear the river down below. Very hard to find though. Make an effort to be sure you have clear specific directions to the house before you arrive.

Great if you’re cycling the Pyrenees.

L'Ardiden was an unexpected delight. It's perched above a river with great mountain views from the rooms and a small balcony. The room was plain, but clean and modern and the bathroom was quite clean and spacious. The location is near the thermal baths, a bit removed from Luz St. Sauveur; however, I preferred being away from the traffic in Luz. It's about a 10 minute walk into Luz. This is a great place to experience Luz, Gavarnie and other regional attractions.

Difficult to find hotel from nearby in town. Lovely room, nice view from balcony, staff very friendly. Easy walk to centre ville. Only comment about room is shower curtain or barrier would be helpful, but otherwise room and b bathroom were lovely.

It was perfect for our ski trip, really close and very cozy

All hotels was fully booked in Pau, found this nice hotel in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Stayed for 5 nights. Basic but very clean rooms, good wi-fi and work desk allowed for effective work at the hotel.

Beautiful, old stone building. View from the front terrace and dining room is looking right at the Cirque de Gavarnie. Great access to hiking trails around this Cirque and also access to hikes into adjacent Cirques. The room was basic and dated, but clean and comfortable, nonetheless. A few oddities like no place to hang a towel, or the hall light didn't turn on when leaving the room (motion sensor was at the elevator end of the hall). Lydia was extremely warm and welcoming and fun to talk with....

This was a perfect room for our pilgrimage to Lourdes. We had a room with four twin sized beds for the two of us. It gave us lots of room to spread out our luggage from our multi-week travels. There is a closet with hangers and shelves for storage. The beds were very comfortable. We only wished we remembered to open the windows at night because the area was so beautiful. Super clean and cozy apartment and very well equipped. The owners, a married couple, were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was great as well. The whole place is cozy and friendly. Also close enough to the ski resort. Definitely will be coming back here! A lot of care has been put into this place. So glad we stayed here!
