Good-sized room. Surprised we didn’t hear the traffic. Slept ok which is good for me. Friendly reception staff. Good breakfast but needs to be replenished quicker. Could do with a bin and mirror in main living area near a plug.

8/10 Very good

I really enjoyed my stay here, thanks in large part to the kind and helpful staff, who were always on hand to assist with friendly service and patience. My room was clean and comfortable, and I particularly appreciated the adjustable fan/heater, which was a lovely touch. The only area I feel could be improved was the breakfast service. The notice in my room stated that breakfast was served from 7–11am; however, when myself and other guests arrived at around 10:40am, we were informed by staff that breakfast had finished at 10am. It would be helpful if the advertised breakfast times were consistent with the actual serving hours to avoid confusion for guests. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay and would happily return to the hotel in the future. The welcoming and attentive staff made a real difference to my experience, and I would be delighted to see them again. Hopefully, on my next visit, I’ll also get the opportunity to enjoy the breakfast!

2/10 Poor

We arrived at 15:15 for our 15:00 check in, however was told the room was not ready. We were let into the room at 15:40. We were led to the property and the staff helped with suitcases because there is no lift. There was a terrible damp smell in the corridor leading up to the room. Once in the room there was no smell, and the room looked fine. It has air con which is a plus. The room had a small bed, it looked smaller than a double but was fine for us. A small TV, table and 2 chairs. Large wardrobes, which had dirty cracked mirrors. Iron and ironing board, it had tea / coffee, sugar, cups, etc but for some reason no kettle? There were 2 bed side cabinets either side of the bed with a lamp on, but oddly there was no socket to plug them in, so not sure as to why they were there as we had no way of using the lamps unless we moved them to the other side of the room. Around 17:15 we had a knock on the door asking if someone was staying here, to which we replied yes, no explanation as to why we were being disturbed. The bathroom is a nice size. The toilet seat appeared broken at first but it’s just too small for the toilet so was uncomfortable and moved when sat on the loo. The shower worked fine but for some reason had a metal bar sticking out - it suggested that maybe a bath was previously there and this was an old tap? The toiletries supplied were also tiny. We were out most of the night, we had a decent night sleep but would not return.
