I would highly recommend anyone who enjoys the outdoors to spend a night or two at Kuangsi Resort and visit the falls at leisure and have the time to climb to the top and then walk the 3kms to the source. The pool at Kuangsi is world class. The resort is quiet, the restaurant was great and the staff really accommodating. Loved our two night stay here after 5 nights in Luang Prabang.
