Hotel in a great location, rooms above a pub but didn't hear any noise. Rooms had everything we needed including a great view. Breakfast was excellent too. Great staff, couldn't do enough for us unlike larger chain hotels.

Well this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in 😡 Our room - I reported it as there was still lots of sugar & coffee granules on the unit near the kettle Stair way - absolutely disgusting full of dust & grime Breakfast- I asked for poached egg to be told they only do fried egg or scrambled egg Have been to Whitby many times and my husband always fancied staying in the Dolphin - never again - what a waste of money

We were in room one large, spacious and clean with a good view over harbour and bridge. Good shower over bath with rubber safety mat and instant hot water. Two wardrobes with enough coat hangers. A small fridge would be very beneficial in each room (only six rooms). Although a small fridge is located on landing between floors one and two with a carton of milk supplied by hotel, we found it out of date and starting to go off. A very good breakfast with very, very good service the ex-RN who served us couldn’t do enough to ensure we enjoyed our four nights stay. Thanks we will return. ********

This is a room in a pub. But our room was to a high standard and almost large enough to be a suite. Absolutely in the centre of Whitby. Breakfast was good and hearty too. Could do with more power sockets in the room, though.
