My husband and I are blown away by the level of care and service at Porta di Castro. The breakfast here every morning is great (it’s impossible to leave here hungry) and they were so helpful with everything we asked about. The hotel is well located to several attractions here in Palermo, it really is a must stay. We would come back to stay here if our future journeys bring us back to Palermo. Just, wow!

Excellent location, beautiful building with 500 years of history, amazing team and extremely helpful owner. Unfortunately there was only one room available - basic triple. This is the most basic room in this property. Definitely worth the stay. Breakfast is overwhelmingly rich! Ah, yes, there is also a 100 year pool with amazing atmosphere. Highly recommend the place.

Best service I have ever received in a hotel. They literally could not do enough, from the very beginning when the reception lady explained where everything was both in the hotel and in Paloma through to breakfast each day where they instantly have a solution for our one gluten-free in the party and one vegetarian. Fantastic location, just round the corner from the beautiful Palazzo Reale and the Duomo, and also right beside a train station to go directly into the airport Swimming pool was a huge bonus too even if it was freezing! Great to be able to lay outside in the Sun or shade and chill for awhile.

Porta di Castro is a nice but compact hotel situated near Palazzo dei Normanni and the cathedral, so location-wise it was great for walking to the historic center of Palermo. My economy room was quite pokey with low ceiling beams you could hit your head on, and a toilet not far from the bed with no proper door, so this room may not be ideal for couples... The staff were friendly and helpful, and they definitely didn't hold back on the breakfast. I enjoyed making use of the outdoor pool and jacuzzi area which is free to use, although the indoor spa and pool comes at an extra cost.

Beautiful property that has been handed down through generations. Sarah greeted us in the street to help us find parking for our car. The quickly brought luggage to our room, checked us in and gave us some wine and a snack. So very welcoming after a long travel day. Restaurant recommendations were great! Breakfast was a FEAST - be prepared. Central location so we could walk everywhere we wanted. The owner helped us with our bags and car. They were so friendly and inviting. I’d highly recommend it!
