Small hotel with great service in a quiet street. We were upgraded to a larger room, and got a lovely room with a big bathroom. The service at the breakfast was excellent and they were fast. Food was great, WiFi was very good. Could have been better light above the mirror in the bathroom, there was none. That’s the only negative we could find. Walking distance from the railway station, at least when it’s not raining. About 700 meters, a bit uphill. Close to city centre.

This is most definitely the best place to stay in Exeter. It’s in a beautiful, quiet location, yet just a short walk to the city centre. The building is full of character and charm; our room was comfortable, clean and we loved the jacuzzi bath and fantastic drench shower with body jets. The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was lovely too, with lots of options available.
