First of all, if you’re arriving at Shin-Osaka by Shinkansen, look for the North Exit. Once you’re heading that way, the hotel is signed on the overhead direction boards. Take the lift up to reception on floor 12. I was greeted by the friendliest, smiliest staff member who made everything a doddle. As is normal, there’s a big selection of amenities at reception in case you’ve forgotten anything. I had paid for breakfast so the system printed me out a receipt to take to the Vietnamese restaurant on floor 3 of the station, just near the hotel entrance. The room I had is best described as compact and bijou, but contained everything I needed as a solo traveller. The most interesting thing is that due to the way the room’s laid out, when sitting on the toilet, you get a good view out of the bedroom window! There is a roller blind in case you’re worried about anyone seeing you through your 16th floor window. All in all, good value for money and a great location for onward travel.
