it is located in a convenient location in the heart of Rome, the room is in excellent condition as far as concern the cleanliness and size, we were given instructions for self check in and was very helpful. A disadvantage that can be considered is the noise of the restaurants exactly down of the room.

We were there for only one day but the location was excellent. It was walking distance to the metro. As we walked to the location, it was surrounded by cafés and shops. There was a small elevator much needed for our luggage. The room had a small balcony with a beautiful view. It was walking distance to the Spanish steps and the Trevi Fountain. Of the many hotels we stayed on our trip this was my favorite. We loved everything about the room except the bathroom.

Visited as a family of 4. I understand that we were the first guests to stay at the property and aside from a few teething problems including lack of working power sockets we had a very pleasant stay. Location in the heart of Centro Storico was excellent and allowed easy access to many of Romes wonderful sights. Accommodation consists of an open plan room with separate bathroom. Beds were really comfortable, 1 king size and 1 double. Room included a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Property is on top floor and is very quiet.

Pros - We liked the room. A/C works great. It was clean. Staff was friendly. We loved the location. Easy walk to sites and Metro. Cons- Check-in and check-out process is a little clumsy. When we arrived at the location to check in, it took a few minutes to figure out how to access the check-in building since it was locked. The restaurant folks below assisted. After we checked in, we helped another couple from Ireland checking in figure it out since they also seemed confused. I think better signage would help. We received physical keys to one of the building doors and no one was present at the desk when we went to return them and check out during business hours. We had to get to the airport so we just left them on the counter. Still a good stay, but check-in and check-out process could be improved. I like signs with instructions. Maybe a little drop box for physical keys if no one is present at checkout.

We first had trouble finding the address and hotel and then didn’t know how to get into the structure because the doors were closed. Turns out we had to do the check in at a different location/address, which was communicated via message from the structure but which was buried in the long email. Thank goodness Roberta was there to help! She was about to leave the structure when she saw us waiting with our luggage in front of the door. She accompanied us to do the check in and was really lovely and friendly. Turns out she was the cleaning lady with a big heart and great skills. The room was super clean and comfortable. Even though the balcony doors didn’t easily close all the way, the AC worked well. Location was great, at a few steps from the Soanish steps and right in the center of Rome. Thank you Roberta

First it’s better I’m writing this than my husband. It was a bit difficult to find. Our car transport couldn’t get to the address so we were dropped off at corner and we walked our luggage to an open padlocked door with an open room with small stairs and tiny elevator. I took elevator to the next floor with luggage unknowingly and my husband climbed the stairs, to another door, padlocked but open. We had a friendly check in and our room was right there by the desk, which was quite convenient because I’m not sure where any other rooms were. We started to feel like it was an unknown speakeasy! Our room was spacious, for Europe and clean. Staff was very helpful and we were connected after 3pm by WhatsApp no other staff was onsite, unless unseen. After hitting the streets we tried to get back into the hotel with difficulties almost every time with the padlocks. Standing outside the main entrance late we found ourselves fighting with padlock entrances over and over again almost every time and with both of us trying to get the locks to work just to get inside! This was quite frustrating after days of sightseeing. In the mornings staff was at your door asking if you needed anything and helpful. It was an adventure!

This is located in an older apartment building. It is very convenient to quite a number of restaurants and shops. Also close to the Spanish Steps. You will have to look closely for the entry door. They sent me a picture, which really helped. There may or may not be someone staffed at the desk. We came in after hours. I registered over email and they sent me very specific instructions on gaining access to the building and room. It looked to me like they took an existing apartment and divided it into several guest rooms. The rooms are small, but nicely appointed and functional. Some may have an outside window, ours did not. For the price and the location, I was happy with the room.

The Bocca Di Leone was the first of five hotels I stayed in during an eleven day trip to Rome and Florence. It was located right inside the commercial heart of the city centre, just two blocks from the luxury shopping street, Via dei Condotti, and a three to five minute walk from the famous Spanish steps. In terms of the major sights and museums in the city centre, it was a fantastic location. The room I stayed in was beautifully renovated, and the building itself was very secure and getting in and out was easy. The hotel had a very boutique luxury feel, and the room itself was large, well air-conditioned and quiet. The hotel staff was extremely welcoming and gracious. I did not have a phone while on this trip, but they helped make my first three nights in Rome easy and comfortable. Being so close to the commercial hub for luxury shopping made it especially easy to find my way back later in the night, it is a part of the city center that has no hills and is very easy to walk around. Taxis could be found at multiple points very close by, and you could often find one on the street the hotel was located on. Between the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and Piazza Del Popolo, so I particularly enjoyed the polished nature of the hotel and area for my first impression of Rome. If traveling from Termini station, I recommend taking a cab to the hotel, especially if carrying multiple bags. Overall, excellent experience and a great choice for a more modern and shopping forward stay.

Nice room at a reasonable price in the center of Rome, walking distance to all the main attractions and several restaurants in the neighborhood. Check-in was a bit of a hassle as the reception had limited opening hours and their phone number was wrong on Hotels.com. We couldn't get through to the reception because of the wrong number. The hotel explained that they tried to contact me but Expedia doesn't give out guests' phone numbers and/or emails. It was easy to get in touch with the reception and quick to get a response after we got the right number. So I hope they got their contact information fixed on the hotel website.

Room was beautiful and clean with a fridge and water/coffee provided. Room looked to have been recently renovated, bed was very comfortable and we thought a steal for the price. We had booked the apartments on bocca di leone but were placed in a room in the apartments round the corner where reception is on via della Croce it’s only 2 min walk difference. Area is ideal 5 mins from Spanish steps there are shops restaurants and a supermarket on the street which is handy. Only issue we had was the number on Expedia is incorrect for the hotel and we had to contact Expedia to get the number which was then for a different hotel in the same chain and they finally gave us the correct number but once we had that communication with the staff was great you just need to contact before hand in order to organise check in as there isn’t always staff on site. Staff were great and they held our bags for us at reception on our last day as well.
