This seems to be a perfectly reasonable 3 star hotel. Everything is kind of what you would expect, nothing is luxury, some things are dated, everything is clean, staff are very helpful. There is no style, finesse or modernity (eg bedroom doors are locked using old fashioned keys, TV stations are the absolute basic Freeview, breakfast is plentiful and varied, but very "British 1980's".) Vegans/vegetarians in our party found things a little limited. TBF it seemed standard in most pubs/restaurants I visited on the island to have just one vegan option. I guess they know their market.

Check in was efficient, all staff very friendly, breakfast was very good with lots of choices, food served in evening in the bar was good too. Room was very nice, glad we paid the extra for the sea view as it was lovely to sit and look out at. Nice that it has a pool and jacuzzi and steam room, but prepare yourself before getting into the pool as it was very cold! We picked this hotel over others in the area because of the easy walk into St Helier and the free onsite parking but the spaces out the front of the hotel are limited and some spaces are too small to fit cars in properly and you can end up being blocked in. On our first day a lot of the parking was taken up by staff parking. There is a small overflow car park around the corner but again limited spaces. All said and done we would recommend the hotel and stay there again

Let's get the positives out of the way. The rooms are clean. The staff are all very nice and the breakfast is decent for a generic "free" hotel breakfast. The location is also good. It's near great restaurants, a bus stop, and a beach. Oh, and the wi-fi worked okay. That's where the good ends. We stayed in July. There is no air conditioning. The road noise is incredibly loud. The fans they provided are garbage. It was like trying to sleep in a sauna that also happened to have constant motorcycle noise. Road traffic petered down around 1am, only to be replaced by buses and garbage trucks by 5am. You can't close the windows or draw the shades to dampen the noise or you'll be sweated out. We barely slept for three nights. Truly unbearable. The room itself was also dated and lacking amenities—the shower barely worked, the toilet leaked, there is no ceiling fan, the room smelled musty. The furniture is cheap. Electrical plugs are poorly arranged. There's no fridge or desk space. The hotel's layout is labyrinthian, with narrow hallways and constant stairs. It was genuinely difficult to get our bags to the room. The indoor pool house is stifling hot, so it's uncomfortable to just to sit there. And, ironically, the hot tub isn't hot. Again, I'm don't want to begrudge the staff: they were all very nice and were pleasant, but there was no salvaging how bad this room was. I have no idea how this place has so many 10 out of 10 reviews. One of the worst hotel stays I've ever had.
