Upon arrival the room smelled like cigarette smoke. There was no remote for the television. The microwave was missing and the floors seemed a little slippery. Very little toilet paper in the bathroom. The front desk clerk was very helpful trying to get us a working remote and she also brought us a microwave probably just from a different room. She did her best but the hotel is very run down there is no sign at the road supposedly they're going to put one there I guess. Was supposed to stay two nights we only stayed one.

Upon checking in, I couldn't receive a room key and was let in the room personally. Later in the evening, I was provided with a room key. I found 2 live roaches while bringing in my bags. There was no coffee maker in the room. I slept well and went to the beach, 30 mins away. It served it's purpose for me.

Miss Jessica was lovely. She’s working real hard to make her Southerlodge a great place for travelers. Our room was super clean. The water pressure was amazing. We had a nice long, hot showers. We felt super safe and it was a perfect respite before our long drive. Highly recommend if you’re doing a northeast to Florida trip if you could make it to Townsend Georgia. I wish her nothing but best of luck.

Check in was easy and pleasant. However, everything else was absolutely TERRIBLE. 1st the staff could not get our room key to work. After trying to program a new key 3 times, they decided to just let us use the MASTER key for our stay. In my opinion, that should NEVER happen, as we has access to EVERY room on the property. That in itself scared me, because then I started to wonder how many MASTER keys were given to other guest, that had access to OUR room. 2nd, our TV would not work, so my husband and grand-kids went to the front desk to let them know about this problem. On their way back, a man started cursing and being belligerent in front of my grand-kids. Which sent my middle grandchild into a fear for our safety and she begged us to leave immediately. 3rd, they sent a man to our room with another TV and he smelt so badly form marijuana that the smell lingered in the room even after he left. My husband then asked me if I felt safe and I told him NO, so he went to the front desk and asked for a refund. We were ONLY given 1/2 of our money back. BEWARE of this place. I DO NOT RECOMMEND !!!!

Maintenance/security guy was professional and helpful with a couple of things. When I was ready to sleep - late - the bed had only a bottom sheet - no top sheet and no blankets. May have been my worst stay ever and that covers 50 years of traveling and probably 750+ nights on the road

Front desk staff is extremely welcoming! Extremely convenient location off of I-95. Great value for what you pay. If you need a place to lay your head, this is it! Use the money you save a splurge on a nicer room later on in the trip guilt free!

The rooms were exceptionally clean and the staff was outstanding. They are just taking over this hotel and they’re doing an excellent job. I had a slight problem trying to figure out the TV. They came over to my room immediately and helped me resolve it and I had a nice quiet day, and my service dog was allowed. Will definitely stay again on my way back down to Florida.
