I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Arcangelo. While the hotel itself (and city) could benefit from some refurbishment, it is still charming, clean, and comfortable. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. They were especially accommodating when I needed to adjust my booking at the last minute and even helped me change rooms without any hassle, which I really appreciated. Just a remarkable location in a beautiful city of Taranto Italy.. gorgeous room, very comfortable, incredible view and wonderful amenities. As others have mentioned the area is best described as sketchy. As soon as we pulled up in the square to check in a guy tried to charge me for parking, turns out he was begging for money. Official parking is on the street outside the hotel door in their own spaces. The reception staff were very professional and helpful. The pictures of the rooms on hotels.com included what turned out to be our room. Which was room 101. Must have been an old picture and the room needs some updating since the photo was taken. The bathroom is tiny, dirty and a shower door that put up a fight when you tried to close it. Certainly not one of the bathrooms pictured in the description of the hotel. The room has a tiny balcony on the inner part of the building complete with fake grass and empty crisp packets and other litter. You can also be treated to a bickering family and kids screaming in the evening. They eventually ran out of steam and the rest of the evening was quiet. Or so we thought, because the weird water and whistling air noises started in the early hours of the morning from some hidden pipes. Breakfast was a meagre affair. No juice and rock hard croissants. We had to leave. Vacation time is too precious to waste. No staff on the desk in the morning as they were busy in the breakfast room. Ran passed the beggar who was now indicating he needed a doctor and headed out of Taranto.

This is a charming hotel. The room was comfortable, and all the staff were helpful and friendly. We had a Deluxe room with a balcony. The view from the balcony was delightful. It overlooked the Piazza Fontana and then across the Ponte di Porta Napoli toward the train station. The hotel's location is excellent for exploring the historic section of Taranto.

Wonderful place. Super friendly on arrival and made sure we had a place to park. Great recommendations on what to do in Taranto. They made everything easy. Room was beautiful and comfortable, the terrace was lovely. Breakfast was also great. I wish we had been able to stay more than one night. Taranto is a fascinating city. The hotel is in the historic city, but at the edge, so it made arriving and parking easier. Easy walk to everywhere, including MARTA. The trattoria close by served excellent and very fresh (directly off the boat) fish. Highly recommend!
