We stayed for four nights and frankly it was a mixed bag since while the location (in a park) and customer facing entry/lobby/first floor dining were quite nice -- the rooms looked like they hadn't been renovated since the late 90s/early 2000s. Rooms had weird placements of things (for example, the bathroom sink with a huge mirror on the wall in front of it had the hand soap liquid bottle attached to the end of the mirror and frankly I had to take a step to the side to even reach it. Also, the furniture in our room (a suite btw) had old and stained chairs. The floors had upended floor plugs for the lights. Basically, not happy with the room. Also rough towels.

Not a place for a good nights sleep!

I will start off by saying that based on our experience, this hotel is not a value for the amount of money that is charged to stay here. Prior to booking I sent the hotel 2 emails regarding getting there and some other specifics regarding our stay. They never replied. However based on the other reviews we decided to book a room for 1 night. Since we arrived by S Bahn we tried to get into the hotel by the park side entrance. We rang the doorbell next to the large glass doors and could see people at the reception desk but no one heard or saw us. So we had to carry 4 pieces of luggage all the way around the building to the elevators. When we finally artived at reception and i mentioned the doorbell, the clerk said she didn't know they had one. The clerk also did a poor job of making us feel welcome. Did not give many details about what the amenities other than the free breakfast. Our room (214) was clean and we did did find and enjoy the pool and sauna after speaking to an employee in the hallway. The real issue though came when we tried to get some sleep. Due to it's location to the rail line and lack of sound proofing, we slept no more than an hour due to the noise and trains passing every 10 minutes or so. We called the front desk twice with no answer. It was terrible and not an accommodation worth 230 euros a night. We had to leave early in the morning so I cannot comment on the breakfast, etc. Based on our experience however, I suggest you stay elsewhere.

Just okay, clean and safe

The room was good, air conditioning was not adequate. Clean comfortable bed. Pool is indoors but the air inside the pool room was so hot that we chose not to use it. The hotel sushi restaurant was overpriced and was just okay. Service at the restaurant was not the best and was very slow. Not sure if we would stay there again. Also going to the rooms required a map as it’s not the easiest hotel to navigate. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.

Rooftop sauna area was lovely but pool the floors down sadly. Shocked at being charged 5€ a day for “ energy costs” when checking out!!!! No replacement of coffee pods or tea bags- very mean for a 4 star hotel. We slept ok but some may find train noisy outside our window. Rhine view nice and citibikes to hire on site - very handy and cheap!

Nice hotel, poor WiFi in our first room, better in the second. Very hot weather and the aircon was ok but not fantastic. Lovely breakfast, friendly staff. Location is lovely next to a park. Less good points: coffee machine only in room (teabags provided but no means of using). Coffee pods charged out at an extortionate €1.50 per pod. €5 per room per day energy charge also seemed a little over the top.

Why was our room so dark?

My wife and I stayed in a suite room when we visited Mainz to see our grandchild. Breakfast was excellent, as was the bar and restaurant which we used a lot. But the hotel was sadly let down by those in reception. We reported 2 x faulty lights shortly after check-in as we were unable to see to unpack our suitcases. Reception promised to send a maintenance guy to sort the issue, but he failed to show. After an hour we went to reception to report the issue a second time. This time a maintenance guy went up to our room to show me that there was no issue with the lights at all. But he found that there were 2 x broken light-bulbs which needed replacing. He produced new bulbs and the matter was solved. But we found our check-in very stressful as a result and the 90 minutes wait for the new bulbs a complete waste of time and effort. We had checked in at night and we could not see to unpack our suitcases, which was ridiculous. Reception should not just taken the word of the maintenance guy without checking themselves. A very poor performance by those on duty in reception. Please check rooms before giving out the keys to guests.

Die Klimaanlage war für die Grösse des Zimmers delish unterdimensioniert und hat es während der Hitzewelle nicht geschafft, die Temperature des Zimmers auf ein acceptable Niveau zu kühlen. Dafür musste ich dann aber einen Energiezuschlag bezahlen, der ūber die Buchungsplattform nicht kommuniziert wurde. Sowas geht einfach gar nicht. Das Frühstück war jedoch sehr gut.

Wir waren für eine Nacht im Favorite Parkhotel und hatten uns aufgrund des Preises und der Ausrichtung als Spa-Hotel deutlich mehr erwartet. Leider war der Whirlpool während unseres Aufenthalts nicht nutzbar. Die Anlage schien defekt zu sein, die Düsen funktionierten nicht und das Wasser zirkulierte nicht. Da der Whirlpool zudem keiner Sonneneinstrahlung geschützt ist, hatte sich das Wasser so stark aufgeheizt, dass ein Aufenthalt kaum möglich war. Auch beim zweiten Pool waren die Wände deutlich grün verfärbt, was keinen gepflegten Eindruck hinterließ. Besonders enttäuschend fanden wir den Umgang mit unserer Rückmeldung. Wir haben die Mängel beim Check-out angesprochen. Diese wurden zwar notiert, jedoch gab es weder eine Entschuldigung noch eine erkennbare Reaktion. Für ein Hotel dieser Preisklasse und insbesondere für ein Spa-Hotel hätten wir einen besseren Zustand der Wellnessanlagen und einen aufmerksameren Umgang mit Gästebeschwerden erwartet. Das Frühstück war super. Es gab viel Auswahl und hat geschmeckt. Warmes wie Spiegelei, Rürei etc. wurde frisch im Raum zubereitet. Was leider dazu gesorgt hat, dass alles nach Fett roch und man selber auch. Der Service dort war nett und zuvorkommend. Leider hatten wir auch ein Zimmer, dass sofort an den Bahnschienen lag, dass sollte man bedenken und ggf. bei der Buchung beachten. Andere Zimmer sind zb auch Richtung Park.

Sehr schöner Spa, sehr freundliches Personal. Ich hatte ein Upgrade zur Zimmerkategorie Park Studio. Die Zimmer sind groß und praktisch, der TV leider etwas klein. Es war sehr schön, vor allem um einen Kaffee auf dem Balkon mit Blick in den Park zu genießen. Leider gab es beim Frühstück keine lokalen Spezialitäten wie warme Fleischwurst oder Spundekäs und Brez'n. Sonst war es umfangreich und der frisch gepresste O-Saft ein Highlight.

Ausstattung des Hotels sowie der Zimmer ist super. Die Lage ist eigentlich ganz schön, wenn einem nicht die Güterlok durchs Zimmer rauscht. Man sollte wissen dass Rheinblick bedeutet: toller Blick aber sehr laut... Was aber besonders negativ aufgefallen ist, war der Service. Haben 1 Std an der Bar auf Getränke gewartet und waren da nicht die Einzigen. Aber es fing schon an der Rezeption an, wo man uns als Expediakunden quasi abgestempelt hat und vor allen Anderen noch einmal drauf hinweisen musste. Dafür das man dort extrem teuer Essen kann, verstehen wir nicht wie man solch einen Service anbietet. Der Knaller war aber als der Chef des Hauses ein anderes Paar quasi aus dem Restaurant geschrien hat, weil diese auch nicht mit dem Service zufrieden waren. Wir hatten dennoch einen schönen Aufenthalt in Mainz aber im Favorite Parkhotel stimmen einfach Anspruch und Umsetzung noch nicht ganz. Viele Grüße
