Beachy Haven

A lovely property, great rooms and communal areas. I love the idea that it operated as almost self catering, without traditional hotel services. It was calm and quiet, very relaxing stay, would definitely come again. Fantastic little village and beach within walking distance.

We had to stay here onky for 1 night. Unfortunately a damage to our motorcycle obliged to stay in Gorran Haven for 4 nights. The accomodation in hotel was perfect but without a rental car the place is isolated, nice but not for long stays.

What a little gem this hotel is, there is no restaurant, but has a communial room with facilities to be able to make food. This didnt bother me & my boyfriend as we could get up and go out to eat as & when we liked. Room was massive and so comfy, window sill was so wide i could sit in it reading my book and looking at the sea. Maria who runs this hotel on her own is a amazing, nothing was to much trouble, very knowledgeable and helpful, nothing was too much for her. I would personally stay here again.

Amazing stay.

Amazing hotel, what a find. Very quiet but Harry checked us in and served us in the bar all evening. The food was fantastic, room was amazing. Will definitely be staying again.

Great location near the sea in Gorran Haven. Service was top notch, staff including General Manager Craig went above and beyond to make our weekend stay fantastic. Will definitely be back to continue our exploration of South Cornwall

Ideal for a quiet and peaceful get-away.

Great position and views, the road was quite a steep climb down and back to the Beach/Harbour. Very peaceful which was just what we were looking for. Excellent service from a very friendly and welcoming staff.

Hotel is nice and clean, Queen bed room was spacious, lovely seaside views, staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was good but the menu was a bit traditional and could have done with more options such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten free etc. Gorran Haven is a beautiful spot, beautiful surroundings, just be prepared for very narrow roads around the village but the hotel car park has plenty of room.

Beautiful hotel the new Management not so good needs a lot of sorting out. The staff are lovely but the owner has some odd ideas. Food and menu poor same menu every day.

A Gem

A gem of a hotel and location with great staff / Megan and lovely breakfast lady (Debbie? sorry if wrong!) who helped my wife work out where her past relatives lived. New owner and his dogs very friendly too.

Llawnroc Hotel - peaceful & enjoyable stay

A few days away for a special birthday and it was indeed special. Really well appointed room with balcony (morning suntrap) and sea view. Very friendly and helpful staff with special mention to Jo and Lisa who went out of their way to help us. Excellent breakfast. Only one disappointment was that the restaurant was closed. However would thoroughly recommend staying at this hotel and visiting the small village of Gorran Haven which has an amazing community spirit with volunteers running a local bus service or manning the fabulous coastal path cafe.

Lovely welcome and Harry was extremely helpful. Superb view over the cove. Dinner and breakfast delicious (altho we asked for items to be omitted at breakfast but still got them!). Hanging space in small cupboard very small but we were only there 1 night (sadly) so wasn’t too much of an issue.

Midweek Break

Location is good but feel its a little run down and need of refurb Shower wasnt very good didnt work properly also lighting not working as it should and carpet needed good vacum Didnt really feel the dining area and bar were part of hotel and therefore didnt really mix with anyone Also not one member of staff spoke to us during the stay apart from rececptionist Could be a good hotel though Feel the owners are missing a trick here
Trevor, 4-night trip

Lovely hotel in a super position overlooking the village and sea. Upgrade to sea view essential or a view if the car park! Rear of hotel a bit grubby. Breakfast excellent, dinner not so good, had to send meals back as they were overcooked. Room clean and tidy, noisy refrigerator. Overall very good but not “superb”.

Wonderful place

This place was in the middle of nowhere so starting to get worried. We walked in the doors and immediately were amazed. We arrived after the restuarant had closed down and were starving. The gentleman who checked us in checked with the chef and he said no problem, they would make us something & bring to our room. That is exactly what they did. The food there was amazing and the staff was super friendly and they all went above and beyond to help us along the way.

llawnroc poor

pretentious and overpriced. Food was microwaved chilli with rock hard rice. Details were sent in advance but had to provide again at check in. 1 person attending bar, serving in restaurant and doing reception. for the price per night charge this was very poor.

The Llawnroc Hotel is a gem. Situated in a small village on the coast it is a better than 4* hotel with very comfortable rooms and very good quality dining facilities. Staff are all very friendly, helpful and relaxed. I ate dinner there twice and the food was excellent. Breakfasts consisted of both cold buffet items and hot dishes cooked to order. The hotel caters for both vegetarian and vegan diets. My room was large and had all modern conveniences including air-con, safe and fridge. The town of Gorran Haven has a few small beaches and only a small number of shops and other facilities. However it is very pretty and offers lots of walking options. It is also well situated for access to the main Cornish tourist locations. I loved my stay at the Llawnroc and would happily return there.
Laurence, 4-night trip

2/10 Poor

I would not recommend this hotel at all.

We did not stay at the hotel due to having both caught Covid. We asked the hotel with plenty of notice to either refund our booking because we were to unwell to travel, or to hold our finances so we could rebook when free of Covid. They absolutey refused us either option. So we paid out for two days stay but did not go there. This is why we give such a low star rating. I would now not recommend anyone use this hotel. Such old fashioned way of doing business in a modern era.

Very nice stay

The view from the room was fabulous! The room was spacious and the bed comfortable, we really enjoyed our stay! There are plenty of common spaces inside and outside to spend some time relaxing

Nice but strange

This was an interesting hotel. It was quite hard to find and when I asked local they thought it had closed down. I had to get the lovely lady who runs it to come and take me as I got lost so many times. On arrival it looked like an abandoned hotel. Only one car in a large car park. No reception. No staff (other than the one lady). No breakfast facilities other than cereal boxes to help yourself to. It felt very uncomfortable and unsafe for a solo female. Left without seeing anyone else. Felt very odd and strange set up.
