We had a great time at the General Lewis. The accommodation was clean, staff friendly and helpful, and food was delicious. There’s a lovely patio area and a garden behind which was perfect to sit in in the evening with a glass of wine. Highly recommend!

Every detail from this stay was perfect. The property is beautifully maintained and immaculately clean. The check in was smooth, with the host being so helpful! Our room was lovely and so comfortable. We enjoyed dinner in town, and cocktails back at the inn- the drinks were made to perfection. So creative. We were just passing through Lewisburg, but my husband wanted to stay longer…it was that wonderful! I would recommend a stay at this inn without hesitation.

The room was very clean, well appointed, and comfortable. Staff were extremely helpful and the dinner was lovely. Our only disappointment was that "continental breakfast" consisted only of a small muffin. Adding some fruit and yogurt, for example, would make it consistent with the rest of the positive experience.

This charming historic hotel provided my husband and I a wonderful visit to Lewisburg WV. The hotel staff were very accommodating and our room was so pretty and clean. The bedding was so luxurious. I’ve visited the General Lewis on several occasions for their swoon worthy weekend brunch service, but this was my first time staying on property. I have to say, the accommodations did not disappoint. This historical inn exudes charm and blends old world attributes with modern conveniences seamlessly. History buffs will enjoy the many antique artifacts featured throughout the hotel that serve as both decor and a peek at the past. Contemporaries will enjoy the on-site bar and lounge where unique libations, and many of their ingredients, are developed in-house.
