Beautifully situated for wonderful views of the valley below. Good parking. The proprietor, Ingolf, is a really likeable extrovert with good English. Best not to mention World Cup, Germany, however!!! Breakfasts are good with occasional treats. Our room was large, plenty of storage, clean with a table for four - good for takeaways etc. (no chambermaid, but not needed anyway) balcony more than adequate for that evening tipple. No lunch or evening meals, but no problem. Beer, soft drinks in large fridge - honor system used. Braunbergstuble further up the hill (watch out for small pointer signs) welcoming, excellent with large meals and Credit cards accepted. Hotel Hirsch in town, Credit cards not accepted and told after the meal. All in all a lovely break.Thank you Ingolf.

We are so glad we found this delightful place to stay for a few days on our trip across Europe. The hotel is cozy and personal with unique items found in nooks throughout. Our room was large, clean, comfortable and included all the essentials. A table with seating for four was a bonus. It wasn’t the season to sit on the balcony but the view out over the valley and mountains was matchless. Our host was friendly and conversational. He gave us good recommendations about the area. Breakfast was home made and excellent including breads with homemade jam, meat, cheese, fruit, tomatoes, cereal, yoghurt and quark, tea, cappuccino and juice. Tea, coffee and fruit were always available. The hotel is under renovation so is a bit rough around the edges in some places. That in no way interfered with the enjoyment of our stay.

The hotel is perfectly located at the top of the town, just a few minutes’ walk from the Black Forest hiking trail. The rooms offer beautiful views of the surrounding greenery. The owner, Ingolf, truly cares about sustainability and has decorated the hotel with this in mind, while still staying true to its original character. Ingolf is an exceptionally kind and welcoming host. When he learned that my wife is a designer, he personally showed us details around the hotel that might be of interest, and we had a really enjoyable conversation. The atmosphere feels very different from a standard hotel – it’s warm, friendly, and personal. Although we arrived much later than the official check-in time, Ingolf came quickly after we reached him through the booking website and welcomed us with a smile. Breakfast was excellent and exactly what we wanted. We feel very lucky to have discovered this wonderful place and would definitely recommend it.

Great hotel literally a few minutes walk from the Black Forest. There is a local swimming pool nearby there you get free access to as part of your stay and lots of restaurants nearby in the village. Just be aware there was no air-con in our room as listed on the app, but thankfully didn’t need it. Other than that was a pleasant stay.

We were underwhelmed upon arrival after a very long journey. The hotel needs some updating as seems quite tired. It just needs freshening up, not changing the character as a lovely property. Some of our light fittings and electric points were not working in our room and the balcony furniture had seen better days, which was a shame with such a beautiful view that we could not sit outside. We also kept tripping over the square overlay carpet coverings in the room. We were unsure of their reason. We did think the bathroom was large and airy, well cleaned. When we arrived we needed to eat but nothing was open within the area and we had to drive to a supermarket. The breakfast was nice.

Due to roadworks and a traffic accident during our journey, we arrived at your hotel approximately 1.5 hours later than planned. The delay was entirely beyond our control. However, when we arrived at the hotel, we were extremely disappointed to find that it was closed. All doors were locked, and the hotel staff had already left the premises. We repeatedly tried to contact the hotel by phone, but no one answered our calls. As a result, despite having a valid reservation, we were unable to access our accommodation. We are a family with three children, and in the middle of the night we were forced to search for another hotel. This caused us significant stress, inconvenience, and additional expenses. It took us several hours to find alternative accommodation, and having to wait late at night with three children was an extremely difficult and exhausting experience. This situation is unacceptable in terms of customer service and guest safety. Although our delay was caused entirely by circumstances beyond our control, we received no assistance, no communication, and no alternative solution from the hotel. We respectfully request that our complaint be taken seriously, that our financial losses and the distress we experienced be properly considered, and that we receive an explanation along with appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and hardship caused.

We were hesitant to write a review of our experience staying in this hotel, however i feel this must be known for future guests if they are considering staying in this hotel. We were told on the day of arrival that they don't have hot water, and heating system has broken down. We were also told we were the only 2 guests in the hotel. The owner of the hotel replied he doesn't know when this will get fixed and most likely will be after we leave. We found it hard to believe, as a running business this cannot be fixed as soon as possible, or fixed on the same day. We endured 3 nights and 4 days showering with cold water. There was no heating system and we were given a portable heater only. On our last day we were leaving, we learned he was expecting guests with a young family arriving the same day. It was clear from that day we felt fooled and cheated by the owner for purposely turning the heating system off as we were the only 2 adult guests there in the whole hotel. We thought to ourselves surely the guests with young children will require hot water and heating. After reading the most recent review its seems obvious our thoughts were right, the owner can't be bothered to turn on the water heating system for us because we are only 2 adult guests, maybe to save money. There was no mention of no hot water or heating system from the young family so i would assume it was turned on back for them, very dissapointing for us and in a way has spoilt our stay.

Ne correspond en rien aux photos présentes sur la page de l'hôtel. Pas suffisamment de caractères autorisés pour écrire tout ce qui ne va pas dans cet établissement j'ai donc ajouté des photos à mon commentaire. Pas de service de réception disponible à l'hôtel, difficulté de trouver quelqu'un dans l'établissement, obligation de passer par téléphone. Lors de nôtre arrivée 18h la chambre n'était pas prête. (alors qu'il est indiqué check in à partir de 15h) L'ascenseur est hors service, le sauna ne ressemble en rien aux photos, il s'agit d'une petite pièce de 7 à 8 m2 avec un sauna entreposé dedans. La piscine contrairement à une piscine traditionnelle n'est pas remplie d'eau, on y trouve à la place une table de ping pong au fond. (Confère photos) Une seule personne pour gérer l'ensemble de l'établissement de l'accueil jusqu'au petit déjeuner passant par les taches quotidiennes de ménage (qui sont inexistantes). Lors du petit déjeuner nous étions une dizaine de personnes, totalement débordé par l'affluence, pas suffisamment de nourriture pour tous les résidents de l'hôtel, nous avons donc décidé de prendre notre petit déjeuner dans une boulangerie du centre ville.

Hotellet ligger uppe på ett berg med fantastiskt utsikt över omgivningen. Hotelägaren var väldigt tillmötesgående och det fanns en god tysk frukost. Rummet var stort och rent, även om möblerna inte var helt moderna, så var det trivsamt. Det enda vi hade önskat oss hade varit en ac eftersom det var väldigt varmt, så att man hade kunnat sova bättre på natten.
