Great stay!

Old hotel but generally very well maintained. The bathroom at the roof top onsen needs some refurbishing, looks dull and dated. Love the activities such as tarts making, crafts making in the hotel, should have more varieties of them. The hotel also provides complimentary shuttles to take the guests to the nearby places, which is such a great service to provide! Would definitely stay here again if we revisit Yilan.

Room is clean and look new. Like the bath tub that can be filled up quickly within 3 mins. Like the warm water outdoor pools, there are many pools that can accommodate many at one time. The breakfast is sumptuous and impressive with abundance of variety of foods, and the taste is good. Unfortunately, I checked in late, did not have time to experience the roof top onsen.

Here’s the thing — the weather was extremely hot during our visit, yet the room temperature was set to 26.5°C. It took about 5 to 6 hours for the room to cool down to a more comfortable level. Because of the heat, we couldn’t use the blanket when we first went to bed. Then, after a few hours, the room became too cold, and we had to put the blanket back on. This is not the kind of experience one would expect from a 5-star hotel. Also, the hallway on the guest room floors had no air conditioning at all — which is quite ridiculous. Overall, this felt more like a 3-star hotel experience.
