This is a very interesting, characterful place. Nice bar, nice restaurant (excellent barbecued steaks) and friendly, helpful staff. Don't hesitate to book - but (my only gripe) if you drive an EV, their chargers don't work. There are other chargers in the town though

I had a great time coming back to the Elephant for about the fourth time. It's not the Hilton, it's a boutique, chic hotel with themed rooms full of character. Really comfy bed and pillows. Great breakfast. There is The Herd steak restaurant, I tell everybody about it, it's great and the steaks are lovely.

A very nice surprise to stop at this hotel on our way to London. Our room was clean and offered amenities such as a shower hat and loufah! The bed and pillows were very comfortable. My only criticism is that we were kept awake by some people who had a late night and were using the shower. You can hear the plumbing through the walls.

Perfect stay

The hotel is lovely the majority of the staff were more than helpful and very accomodating... one member called the day after my stay and sounded on the phone a little like she didnt want to be there but all others were amazing.

Really enjoyed the hotel, clean but small room. Steak dinner was not cheap but really tasty, definitely recommend the steak. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only disappointment was that the bar closed at 10:30, despite me and my 2 colleagues being in the bar and hotel residents. That was the only thing that let it down.

Good value for money

The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. Excellent location, although the carpark is very small and was fully occupied by the time I arrived. Customers using the hotel restaurant. Public parking is nearby at £1 a night. The room was very clean and well presented, however some of the furniture is rather tired looking. There's a good choice of quality tea, coffee biscuits and bottled water in the room. I'm very happy with my stay. Sadly I had to leave early and missed the breakfast.
