We had a wonderful stay at Guesthouse Guri. The owner was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and told us all about the Albanian culture. The location and views were incredible. The room was comfortable whilst maintaining the history of the building. We loved our stay here and would highly recommend!

8/10 Very good

Room was clean, the check in process could be more clear with instructions prior to arrival as I had to message the property via chat to check in and was helped by a neighbour. A lovely common room, unfortunately no toilet paper in the room and had to again ask the neighbour. Odd set up, great room. No check out instructions.

This amazing place is absolutely worth a visit. Yes you need a good pair of legs. But when you get up there, your troubles will be gone.

4/10 Fair

I did not stay at the guesthouse because no real address was given. My bus arrived after 6pm at the southern end of the city with no place to leave my luggage and no way of getting l onward transport at that time of night. When I make bookings I always pay special attention to the practicalities of getting bewteen public transport and the accommodation. This information was missing for both the guesthouse and the transport. It became clear that I would not be able to get there so I found alternative accommodation in my location.

2/10 Poor

The guesthouse is not accessible by road and we were notified about it 1 day before travel (when we told the owner about it afterwards they said we should have known based on Google Maps and description of it being under the castle, I wonder who would check accessibility for a hotel you plan on staying in?). We first thought we might be able to manage taking our suitcases up, but the distance from road to guesthouse is long and steep and impractical for anyone with large bags. It perhaps works best for backpackers. We ended up paying for rooms which were never checked into or stayed. So a completely impractical place for many people who would have larger bags. And wish the ownership would have refunded us for portion of stay even though we never ended up staying because of impractical it is.
