What a great retro themed motor lodge! Staff was so polite and helpful! Great little pool, too! The only thing I would have liked to have was a coffee maker in the room, but there is coffee, fruit and snack bars available in the office.

This renovated property is clean, well appointed, and overall a great value and great place to stay. We met both the owner and manager; you can tell how serious they both are about customer service and the brand they've created at the colony house. If you enjoy attention to detail, great location in Roanoke, and staff that care about what they're doing, stay here. We would stay again of on the area!

This was a very cute, beautifully refurbished vintage motel. It had a lot of character and the front desk staff was warm and full of southern charm. The only thing lacking was a vending machine. We got in too late for restaurants and it would have been nice to get a snack before bed. Small potatoes. Great stop.

This establishment was the best. The staff are extremely friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and resourceful. The stay was phenomenal, phenomenal, phenomenal, phenomenal, phenomenal and phenomenal. I absolutely loved it. The aesthetics and ambience was everything I needed for the trip that I was on. It really made me want to just sit in the room and chill. It is perfect for longer stays like 5 to 7+ days. Especially if you get the two room suite!! The Customer Service is Chick-fil-A level and beyond; where my pleasure doesn’t need to actually be said, it shows in the actions and non-verbal body cues of the employees. This will be my go to hotel every time I visit Southern, Virginia.

What are you waiting for? This place has been lovingly renovated. It is gorgeous. I’d love to see the Shasta Trailer turned in a food and beverage trailer and maybe a fire pit set up with party lights😁 My only real concern is that you find a way to extend the shower glass as no matter how careful you are, water goes out on the floor. I would want that corrected for its longevity. You have the formula, now quickly buy up more of the roadside oldies and get on with bringing them back to life. Bravo!! Get your reservation now.

Love, love, LOVE this cute, 50s styled motel!!! It’s so well done and the staff are super friendly. Everything was clean and well maintained. They even have some interior rooms for folks who prefer that. The pool was the perfect temperature so it felt great once you got used to it and not like you were swimming in a bathtub. Pool towels are nice and big too. Breakfast was only coffee, apples and granola bars, but that’s more than most motels so. The double queen rooms are great, with nice, big hot showers. We will absolutely stay here again next time we’re in town!!! Hot tip: go eat at Our Daily Bread Bakeet & Bistro while you’re in town. You won’t regret it!

We were only able to stay for a short amount of time but everything was amazing. The room was spacious, the bathroom very clean and the bed comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. The overall feel is very charming and we can’t wait to stay here again!
