All good except that a bed bug appeared and I had to move a hotel in the middle of the night. The staff was very helpful and even though the room was a tiny single bed room it indeed had everything I needed. The staff said it was the first time a bed bug appeared and would deal with it immediately.

This is just a wonderful, quiet, safe place to stay if you’re traveling to London. Hampstead Tube is just 100 meters or so walk from La Gaffe and will get you to Central London in 12-15 minutes. Location wise hard to beat unless you want the hustle and bustle of Central London. What sets this lodging from run of the mill is the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff of this family-owned business. Just outstanding! The rooms are somewhat on the small side, but who travels to stay in your room all day? Just a heads up though, this is a charming, older building, if you have mobility issues you would definitely struggle getting up to the 3rd floor as the stairs are steep and narrow. The daily breakfast is fine, nothing to write home about, although the coffee is outstanding and brewed by the cup. Overall, just a great place to stay while in the London area.
