This was the best property we stayed in of all the cities we visited in Japan. The Gion area was beautiful and quick walk to various train stations. Conveniently located close to trains and buses, we used this as our base for exploring Kyoto. There's a convenience store next door, and it is a short walk to many restaurants, shops and transport to the must-see Kyoto sights. Washer/Dryer combo unit in our room was excellent, and we enjoyed the kitchen and dining area for the ability to make breakfast and snacks easily. Would highly recommend.

We are so happy we choose the Minn Gion for our stay - The hotel was very well appointed and it was SO nice to have in suite laundry (and dryer) in our room part way through our trip. The hotel is located perfectly. You are a VERY short walk into old Kyoto and a short walk to incredible shopping and experiences. We had two of our best meals at Hikiniku to Come and Gyoza Hohei - Both were absolutely worth lining up for and were a short walk from the hotel. We had an easy time getting to the Tori Gates and out to see the Monkeys and Bamboo forest. The subway station is super close and made an early morning travel day to Okinawa very easy. Perfectly located and really great rooms made this one of our favorite stays while in Japan. Thank you!

We stayed at this hotel for two days at the end of July with two adults and two children. First of all, I should mention that the hotel is very new and the rooms are quite spacious and functional. It also has kitchen appliances, bathroom amenities, and a washer-dryer to meet all your needs. Everything is in brand-new condition. We researched the location before making our reservation, and the location is truly excellent—right next to the Sanjo-Keihan subway station. From this station, you can easily reach many places. For example, you can take a single, direct line to Fushimi Inari without having to transfer. Access from Kyoto Station is also extremely easy. If you walk straight across from the hotel, you’ll reach Hanamikoji Dori Street; if you exit the hotel and turn right, you’ll reach Shijo Bridge and a lively area with plenty of dining and drinking spots. Information on how to check in is provided a few days before your arrival, and both check-in and check-out are very straightforward processes. There are other hotels belonging to the Minn chain in the immediate vicinity, so be sure not to confuse them. There’s also a room where you can leave your luggage. Additionally, I should mention that there’s a grocery store right next door. The only downsides might be the late check-in time and the fact that the windows don’t open. We were very satisfied and I highly recommend it to everyone.

The room was excellent sized. Perfect for a family of four. The bidet can use some English translation, but it was perfectly fine to use for non-Japanese still. The check-in staff was super helpful and was accommodating when we arrived 30 minutes earlier than the 3 pm check-in time. The location was perfect also. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants and tourist spots.
