This lovely boutique hotel is situated quite close to Funchal (a 15 to 20 min walk) and our room had a spacious bathroom and a balcony with partial sea view / view over Funchal area. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast was served in the adjoining sister hotel, and there were continental and cooked options (all of which were good quality and tasty). Recommended!

A great hotel in a nice location. We enjoyed our stay. Very clean and tidy. The property had the feel of a grand plantation house. The only thing letting it down was the slight complexity over the amenities. Whilst it has its own pool, everything else you require, such as food, bars, larger pools, etc., needs to be accessed from the Pestana hotels next door, which can be accessed through a route within the grounds. We found the breakfast area well, but never found the bar or other areas, as it was slightly confusing. I think a quality onsite restaurant would be a real asset here, along with some evening entertainment. We went out to nearby restaurants every night, as we didn’t feel the hotel had much to offer in this regards. We had a few small issues with housekeeping, but once we raised the problems, they were quick to remedy them. The hotel is situated about 20-25 min walk from the main town of Funchal - so within a reasonable difference. For the price of this hotel, I think things like an airport transit service would be nice. Overall a nice establishment, with good and knowledgeable staff. Felt more like a bed and breakfast facility. There was no room service, to the best of our knowledge. The acid test is always, would you stay again - I would say “yes” but probably when the rooms were on sale price etc. I would certainly recommend the hotel. Clean, good quality, and nice staff. A little expensive for the amenities on offer but otherwise great.

The Perestrello has recently been refurbished and our room on the 2nd floor of the annex was lovely. The bed was comfy, the room had plenty of storage/hanging space, a good size safe, small refrigerator and quiet air conditioning. The bathroom was spotless with a walk in rain fall shower. Our room had a balcony which got the sun until early afternoon. We used the pool in the garden as well as the one in the adjoining (by a short bridge) Miramar. The gardens and pool areas are really well cared for and maintained. Breakfast is served in a separate restaurant in the Miramar which has a lovely terrace. There is a freshly prepared hot food option together with an extensive range of cereal, rolls, cheese, meats etc. There are several good restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel has underground parking at €15 per night. All the staff we meet couldn’t have been more helpful, friendly and welcoming. Our only reservation was (for light sleepers) there was some traffic noise in the late evening/early morning. Highly recommended.

The room was clean, updated, and bright, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and perfectly sufficient to start the day. Parking was easy, and the garden was beautiful, which added to the overall atmosphere. The entire stay was very relaxing. The location is excellent — central and convenient, yet still quiet and peaceful with a sense of tranquility. The only issue was the shower. The water temperature would suddenly turn very hot or cold when someone else was using water in the building, so the plumbing setup likely needs some adjustment. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Et meget imødekommende sted. Vi havde direkte udgang til poolen hvilket var super. Morgenmad på søster hotellet Miramar fungerede helt ok. Parkering i kælderen lidt for dyrt. Hotellet var sammanbyggt med två andra hotell, så frukosten serverades på grannhotellet, mycket bra frukost. Hade städning av rummet 2ggr/dag vilket vi aldrig varit med om på tidigare hotell. Bra läge till city och till Lidoområdet. Härlig blommande trädgård med korgmöbler. Flera bra restauranger i närområdet. Ett hotell som vi gärna kommer tillbaka till.

Personnel accueillant et chaleureux, surtout au petit déjeuner. L'hôtel fait partie d'un grand complexe hôtelier où on accède au petit déjeuner, piscine intérieure et spa. Dommage que le spa soit éloigné de la piscine intérieure et ne fonctionne pas toujours. Jacuzzi en panne. Difficile de profiter du balcon à cause du bruit de la circulation. Sinon, plein de petites attentions : boissons, sucreries... Et un quartier avec de nombreux restaurants, accessible à pied vers le centre et le front de mer.
