The owners have done a beautiful job setting up this beautiful bed & breakfast adjacent to the ferry. They were so kind and generous in spirit and gave us a personal history of the area while welcoming us with an evening cocktail. Our stay at Sognefjord Gjesteheim was amazing! The hosts, Paolo & Julia, are so kind and really made our visit to Vangsnes even more special by making us feel so welcome. They’re very knowledgeable of the area and provided lots of advice / recommendations for what to see and do. The breakfast and dinner was also delicious. We’d definitely stay here again and will recommend to all our friends and family. 10/10

Such a lovely place to stay right by the Songnefjord and the car ferry terminal at Vangsnes. Staff are so pleasant. Make sure to try the Gamalost, a Norwegian delicacy, at breakfast!

When we booked, we didnt know what to expect yet we found a gem of a place that offered a homey, cozy feel with modern touches such as a heated bathroom floor and towel rack Paulo and Julia went above and beyond to show excellent hospitality from top to bottom. Room views were amazing and beds were comfortable. We will definitely come back and recommend this place to all who seek and understand a 'home is where the heart is'.

Awesome place to stay. Breakfast was wonderful with omelets and homemade waffles with jelly. They made a fresh coffee cake. They had anything you would could want. They were so helpful with things to see in the area. Room excellent and clean. Highly recommend this hotel. Right near the ferry. Thanks for a wonderful birthday song.

We had a delightful two nights. Paulo and Julia were great hosts. A lovely couple with so much knowledge and great ideas for sightseeing. Our room had an amazing view of the fjord and was very comfortable. Breakfast included home baked waffles and cake! Dinner included fresh pasta! We highly recommend staying here for the authentic experience!

This property is owned and run by the most hospitable couple. They made us feel most welcome and a big thank you is extended to them for their hospitality. The property is newly renovated, clean and the beds comfortable. A delicious breakfast is served of cheese omelettes, waffles and continental options. It is conveniently located next to the Hella – Vangsnes car ferry. Sights within walking distance is the Fridtjov the Bold statue, and driving distance Hopperstad Stave Church, and the town of Vik where you’ll find restaurants. We enjoyed riding the car ferry as pedestrian passengers across the fjord and back for the views which is free for pedestrian passengers.

Truly, one of the joys of travel is meeting great people, you can’t do better than the owners of this delightful bed&breakfast. Paolo and Julia went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. I had the pleasure of sitting by Paolo while he played on the piano. Breakfast was plentiful. They were kind enough to prepare a plate and hot coffee for my late-rising husband. The location is wonderful too, a short drive to Vik and opposite the ferry that sails the Sognefjord. Thank you both again for the stay, food and conversation. Highly, highly recommend ✨

Myself, my husband and son really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very charming, cozy, and clean. The owners (Paolo and his wife) were amazing and made us feel at home. The breakfast was homemade and very tasty. The location was also very convenient for taking the ferry to Hella, and we were lucky enough to see Orcas in the fjord from our room.

An amazing view of the fjord complete with waterfall, snowy mountains, and an electric ferry (very quiet overall, which was nice given the close proximity of the guesthouse to it). Gullveig and Paolo have done a great job updating the facilities and the rooms were comfortable and well-provisioned. They had a wonderful breakfast spread and some great stories to share with us. I can't recommend the guesthouse enough!

This is a guest house in the truest sense of the word. Out host met us when we arrived and took us to a sitting room for a refreshing apple drink and a chat, then showed us to our room and explained everything about the room and the breakfast the next morning. The room (2 bedrooms, actually) was clean, well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. We had a great view of the fjord, and the room was quiet. The bathroom was very nice and the shower was great. The next morning we were given a huge buffet of breads, toasts, cheeses (including the famous local cheese), fruit, toppings and jams, etc. Our hosts then cooked us omelettes and Norwegian waffles, and we finished off with a piece of chocolate cake. Delicious! We were also given information about the history of the house, the ferry and the area, including things to see and do. All in all, my favorite stay in all of Norway!

UBESKRIVELIG. Du tas imot som en venn. Vertskapet gir av seg selv under hele oppholdet. Det lages mat, spilles musikk, synges og konverseres, med alle gjestene på mange ulike språk. Det er et lite overnattingssted, 10 rom. Senger og rengjøring er utmerket. Badet på vårt rom var stort og fint. Men det som gjorde det store inntrykket var varmen, involveringen og gjestfriheten hos vertskapet. Man kan ikke komme til et bedre sted.
