Nice enough, conveniently located and definitely value for money. Room was clean and tidy and shower was nice and hot, just what was needed for a one night stay. Just a couple of things that weren’t quite 5/5 but no real complaints.

Nothing fancy but all good

Warm, clean room. Very basic but fine as a place to crash for a night.

Breakfast was good but a bit expensive. The check in did not work abd there was no sign to say this which was annoying on arrival Some of the staff wrre lovely and really interested in the guest's experience. Everything was central from the hotel which was great

Plenty of safe parking onsite. Didn't have breakfast, but had fish n chips for supper and it was really tasty. Room and pub was well maintained and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Reception is fully automated (no dedicated reception staff) but housekeeping and pub staff can provide some assistance. Ideal location for Chatsworth and the surrounding area.

Surprisingly great. Really clean spacious room with comfortable bed and free parking. We ended up in an accessible room which looked really well designed. Only thing is to make sure you check in using the email they send as reception isn’t manned. You just find your booking and set up the room key. Very simple and efficient.

Parking easy, staff in the pub lovely however there’s no hotel staff it’s an iPad to check in on. Stain on top of the bedsheet and TV was not that “smart” as the WiFi didn’t seem to be working for other guests (my tv would just not connect to Netflix and struggled to turn off unless I went to the wall. Really comfy and looked lovely, minor issues mentioned.

First Rate Hotel

An excellent stay, good sized room and en-suite bathroom. The room was spotless and the staff friendly but professional. The breakfast could not be faulted and there is a large car parking area.

6/10 Good

Our room was lovely and spacious and finished to a high standard. The automated check in and check out worked really well and it was easy to find and park. Unfortunately, we had no hot water at all during our stay. Both myself and my husband had cold showers which ended our stay on a bit of a sour note. We had drinks in the restaurant in the ev

Can't fault the room for the price, and that it was dog friendly. Interesting self check-in process - very impressed. Food in the pub was ok but expensive for what you got, also don't like when pubs advertise elements on a dish which you never end up getting. Build your own ice-cream was missing half the things you say you can get, brisket didn't have any sauce and the kids mac and cheese was surprisingly devoid of cheese! We ate elsewhere the second night but happy with the rooms and would stay again.

Great place to stay

Excellent all round. I arrived too early to check in but was able to leave my luggage. When I got there (much later) to check in, my bag had been put in my room for me, which was really appreciated. Staff were all charming, helpful and friendly.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel and really couldn’t fault it all. The staff were lovely, warm, friendly, very kind & obliging, the room had all the facilities you needed, was very clean, quiet and had fabulous views. The food in the restaurant was very good & offered a nice selection. The continental breakfast was perfect (muesli, granola, mixed berries, yoghurt etc - all my favourite things) & they even provided oatmilk. Above all that it was exceptional value, so we’ll definitely come again if we’re visiting the area. Thanks to all the team, they are a credit to the hotel.

This hotel is in a great location and is very handy for Chatsworth and the walks around this beautiful area. I’m told the hotel is under new ownership and there are big plans for refurbishing both the hotel and restaurant. However our room was spotless and we had everything required for two nights of peace and tranquility. Friendly efficient staff the hotel will do well to retain.

The hotel was originally a Premier Inn, and has been taken over by Chatsworth, with plans to renovate it. The room we had was good. The breakfasts were good, and evening meals were OK, but just traditional pub fayre. Staff friendly. Reception needs to be signposted better, but I guess that will be all part of the refurbushment.

The location for the Peaks is fantastic and it’s more affordable than staying in the Peaks itself. We stayed as a family of four and have stayed here before prior to its rebrand but it could do with a bit of TLC. The lady on the front desk was very friendly and also engaged with our young children which was nice. There is a bar/restaurant connected to the hotel, where we had a drink, but we didn’t eat there. Free parking and a less than one minute drive into the Peaks - brilliant for what we wanted.

4/10 Fair

No restaurant and no breakfast, undergoing refurb!

A disappointing stay mainly as a result of false advertising. The hotel is currently under refurbishment which means there is no breakfast, or dining facilities. The room itself was lovely, well decorated and comfortable no problem with that but we paid £221 for just a room and a bed! The hotel did contact us via email after I made my booking but I had booked a non-refundable stay so couldn’t change. They also did offer a takeaway breakfast option but as a family we wanted the chance to have a good hearty breakfast before a long walk and then the chance to relax in the restaurant in the evening. So for that really disappointing. Once finished I am sure this place will be lovely, but be warned until the 6 October there is no restaurant which is very different to the advertising on Hotels.com

The Highwayman- just like a Premier Inn!

Staff couldn’t have been more accommodating - very keen to help and advise . Even saw them helping other customer's with cases into cars. Very pleasant staff providing excellent service . Room was heated with plug in oil filled heater which I thought unusual for a hotel! we switched off as soon as we arrived . The room was excessively hot in the night but there was a plug in fan provided The central heating wall control wasn’t working so assume this is a temporary heating issue? The cooked breakfast was excellent - good quality , hot, well presented and delicious Would definitely recommend and wound stay again Great location Recently changed from being a premier inn
