The property was beautiful and grand. Check in was very chaotic with no instructions. We wandered around until we found an envelope on a desk with our name on it. Then we had to wander around to find our room. It was delightful wandering with a lot to see and the grounds were breathtaking!

The Basic Apartment in the annex separate from the actual castle, was really very basic. Especially in terms of cleaning and general maintenance, which was really a disappointment. It smelled like wet dog, The staff was professionally friendly, but did not really seem to enjoy their job. Surroundings were great however, including the park.

Front desk person Heidi was so unhelpful. She never pointed out hand written sign in Danish giving WiFi. Neither the sign in Danish that the luxurious dinning room had no alcoholic drinks. We said no to breakfast which she put on our bill anyways Dinner was so unbelievably slow that people were knocking on the kitchen door. This is a magnificent property but they need staff who are trained.

Our two teenage daughters, got to live out there princess dreams! Ask reception how to get into the tower - it’s a hike, but the view is amazing! The castle is generally a little rundown (but nothing that ruins the grandeur of this once stately home) Both our rooms were beautifully decorated and very clean! Based on reviews, we had decided not to have dinner at the castle, but there are some cute options near. We did have breakfast and it was excellent, with everything you may need to start the day with a full stomach - we took her out to sit in the gardens. There was a lovely free feeling to being able to roam the property and gardens. If you’re traveling through Fyn, I would add this as a stop (it was our daughter‘s favorite part of the trip)

Litt slitent hotell, men med masse sjarm. Merk at restauranten stenger tidlig og at man må bestille bord, hvis ikke er betjeningen i restauranten ikke spesielt interessert i å få gjester. Vi hadde bestilt bord, men restauranten hadde ikke fått bookingen og det var på nåde at vi fikk et bord og fikk bestille, selv om det var masse ledig.

Vi havde en såkaldt suite. For at komme fra opholdsstuen, som var meget gammeldags, men ganske nydelig, til bad og toilet og soveområde, skulle man igennem noget, der engang havde været en indgang, Soveværelset var meget snævert og toilettet var så småt, at man ikke kunne ungå at slå hovedet mod væggen, når man rejste sig.

I would stay again in The Apple House, it is really lovely, romantic and remote from the castle hotel (maybe even a bit scary away..). A bit ‘delapidated’ but overcomable. Beautiful cosy little cottage! A pity the restaurant was closed for dinner Sunday and Monday (our days there..) but a lovely breakfast could be ordered in the main house (the castle itself was empty on a Sunday night but looks lovely (but needs an upgrade of a few millions)

Ved ankomst kl 16 (det forudbetalte værelse havde vi til rådighed fra kl 15) ventede vi 5-10 minutter i receptionen, før en medarbejder kom og chekede os ind - uden at byde os velkommen - eller ønske os et godt ophold. Vi måtte selv spørge hvor og hvornår morgenmaden blev serveret. Hun foreslog os endda, at vente yderligere et kvarter med at køre op til vores hus, så nogle andre gæster kunne få mere tid til at fotografere udenfor. Vi ventede dog ikke, og fotograferingen viste sig også at være overstået. Det bookede 'hotelværelse' viste sig at være en hytte, som også fungerede som en feriebolig. Badeværelset var forældet og underdimensioneret. Der var fugtskader på væggene, skimmelagtigt sort på gulvet bag toilettet og skader i bunden af badekarret. Stolebetrækket var slidt og med klamme pletter. Alle hynder på havemøblerne udenfor var pladdervåde. Fjernsynet var i stykker. Vi kunne ikke komme på WIFI. Flere af lamperne virkede ikke. Belysningen langs stien fra slottet op til vores hus fungerede ikke. Det oplevedes utrygt, da huset lå for sig selv i et område med høje træer. Vi forsøgte ved bookingen at booke bord i restauranten, men det var ikke muligt. Vi måtte køre hen til Fåborg og spise. Den tilkøbte morgenmad næste var jævn og fantasiløs - langt fra det gode morgenmåltid vi var stillet stillet i udsigt. Vi checkede ud elektronisk og havde slet ikke haft kontakt med noget personale under opholdet, bortset fra ved ankomsten. Alt i alt en skuffende og ubehagelig oplevelse.

Hotellet var i sørgelig stand. Beskidt mange steder. Der stod gammel sushi i køleskabet på værelset. Maden var ikke noget at komme for og betjeningen dårlig. Kan ikke anbefales.
