The whole staff were wonderful. They helped us get to the Riad when our other driver didn’t show up. They were very welcoming with mint tea and cookies and they through out our stay made sure we had what we needed. When we had a 5:40 AM flight they not only arranged a driver for us, but also sent us on the way with breakfast. Truly an outstanding staff and the Riad itself is beautiful.

This place was awesome!! Great central location, close to Bab Eljuloud ( blue door). The breakfast was delicious. The room was clean and spacious and the hammam and massage was excellent. The entire experience was authentically Moroccan and absolutely amazing.

Beautiful Riad. Courtyard was beautiful with the trees and architecture. Staff were super helpful. Very easy walk to Medina. Rooms were a bit dated. But everything else more than makes up for it. Breakfast was great on the rooftop each morning. Did the hammam and massage on the last night and it was very relaxing. Although a bit pricier than other options in town.

Ryad Alya is a beautiful classic property with a fantastic view of Fes from its rooftop terrace. Our room was huge and comfortable for our family of 3 adults. Close to the Souk and the Blue Gate. Great breakfast on the terrace. Highly recommend.

Moroccan Architecture and Traditional Stay

I am happy with my stay , I was really looking for a traditional Moroccan place to stay and Ryad Alya did not disappoint. The architecture is very traditional and I can feel the local tradition in my stay. They also served the best traditional Moroccan breakfast and Idris was so nice to wait for me for my late check in and also for providing me good breakfast himself. I recommend this place in your next trip and they also have a transfer from the airport or from the train to this place.

This was a fabulous hotel and the service was excellent! The staff were very attentive and offered us complimentary mint tea and cookies after our Medina adventures each day. Breakfast was different each day and my husband loved the tomato jam. They serve breakfast in the courtyard during winter/spring time when it’s too cold but they also serve breakfast on the rooftop in the summer I believe. The architecture of this place was amazing. Shout out to Otmane for being extra attentive at the front desk. I appreciated that they gave us new bottled water each day as many hotels do not do that. It was amazing to hear the call to prayer from the rooftop (which has an amazing view of the Medina by the way). We would definitely stay here again. Things that could be improved include: dim lighting in rooms, TV was all in German for some reason, sometimes the outside door took a while to open (they don’t give you a key to the riad main entrance), and the windows didn’t shut very well so you could hear the street noise a bit.

Exceptional stay — the best of our Morocco trip We stayed here from May 13–15, 2026, and had an excellent experience. This was the best hotel stay of our entire Morocco trip (Marrakech, the Sahara Desert, Fes, Chefchaouen, Tangier, and Casablanca). Our deluxe suite on the first floor was huge, elegant, and full of character. The ceiling must have been at least 15 feet high, which made the room feel grand and beautiful. The bedroom, separate living room, and antique-style bathroom were all very spacious, and the suite even had a charming loft area on the side. What impressed us most, though, was the outstanding service. Mahmoud was truly wonderful. You can feel that he is genuine and takes real pride in his work — it is clearly not just a job for him. He loves what he does and helped us better understand the city, the culture, and the local way of life. One especially memorable example was when I realized I had left my belt behind. Mahmoud checked the cost of different options and suggested that using Morocco’s fast delivery service would be the best way to get it back. He arranged the delivery and even communicated with locals in Arabic to make sure everything was handled properly and delivered to me befoire handing back to NY. Overall, this was a very, very impressive stay. The room was beautiful, the property had great character, and the service was exceptional. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in Morocco.

Ryad Alya was beyond beautiful. Our check in was handled by Houssen and I can’t say enough about how wonderful he was. He helped get our train tickets for the following day. He made sure we were happy and content with our beautiful upgraded room. He should be given every opportunity to advance in this profession. Houssen could teach a class on customer service!!

Amazing place. Highlight of our Morocco trip. Even though all Moroccan hotels label themselves as riad, they are actually dars (lacking a tree or courtyad garden). This is a true riad featuring a sky high orange tree and a fountain right in the middle of courtyard. The whole place was beautifully decorated and each room was personalized. The hosts were the nicest. They made sure to put a crib in the room, even though I forgot to ask. They bent over backwards to meet our every request. The breakfast was amazing and their lunch was one of our best meals in Morocco. Their in-hotel hamam and massage service was also extremely reasonably priced and great. Overall, it's a gem of place and you won't regret staying here.

Beautiful Riad. We stayed as a family of four in the Fez Suite, which was luxurious. Service was excellent and breakfast delicious. Location close to Medina was convenient, yet also completely quiet inside. The only hiccough was the failure of the Riad’s driver to pick us up for our ride to the station at the end of our stay, who had otherwise been excellent on arrival. Thankfully it was easy to find a taxi just round the corner! But overall highly recommended. Thank you!
