Wonderful location above the sea with a great view from the rooms, the terrace and the pool. High level of comfort and convenience with a free bar and great Onsen with superb views. You can walk to the beach by foot within 5 minutes and also to the town and restaurants in about 10-15 minutes which was very convenient. Great value hotel!

Beautiful hotel high up over looking the sea. We had a corner room with a panoramic view of the sea. The breakfast was traditional Japanese. There is a free bar, free soft drinks, and tea and coffee. The onset is wonderful and the host was very accommodating. The host took us to the train station at the end of a wonderful stay.

A lovely location overlooking the bay. The onsens was a great experience and our stay was made all the more enjoyable by the staff. I assume they are husband and wife, the man could not do enough for us literally running around to fulfil any requests however large or small.

Pros: Amazing view, gorgeous balcony! huge room, sweet and helpful staff, beach isolated and pristine- 5 min walk away, sweet pool, hotel is probably one of the best of available options, price is right!
Cons: Usami is a small town, hotel is on a hilltop (hence the amazing view)
Often ended up eating konbini food because I didn't want to do the trek up the hotel, sweet front desk dude gave me a ride to the station -

This was, by far, my favorite hotel of the five I stayed in on my trip to Japan. The proprietor and his family were friendly and accommodating. I had delicious, home cooked meals brought to my room for breakfast and dinner each day. The hotel was beautiful, peaceful, clean and quiet. The rooms were spacious, lovely, clean and had a breathtaking view of the ocean. If you are looking for excitement this is not the place for you. If you just want to relax in peace and quiet, walk on the beach enjoy delicious food and you don’t mind steps (you need to go down some steep steps to get to the beach) this is the perfect place.

Absolutely wonderful place!
This was simply one of the best accommodation choices I have made in years! My room was large, bright and clean. The bed was huge and comfortable. There was a balcony with a beautiful view of the coast. The manager was very polite, enthusiastic and friendly. He showed how much he values his guests. I had selected a breakfast option before arriving and had delicious local food brought to my room in the morning. Drinks, pool and onsen are all provided in this hotel. I informed the manager that I will definitely be back and he seemed to be pleased.
The village of Usami is lovely and quiet during the week. There are very few shops but the large town of Atami is a short but scenic train journey away (2 trains per hour).

This is a boutique hotel that is on a steep hill that faces the ocean, our room had a nice view of the ocean. We also ordered breakfast and dinner (no lunch available)and the dinner is quite extensive with many dishes, mostly of high quality. Hotel room is relatively large and mostly well furnished although we did have an issue with a drainage pipe which the hotel fixed quickly.
Overall, a nice room with great view and very good food, the price/performance is quite high.
The main negative is it located away from even Usami itself and it's very difficult to get taxi if you can't use Japanese to call a taxi. We had problems getting a taxi back to the hotel from Ito as well and literally walked back to the hotel.

The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. The free drinks was an amazing perk. We had breakfast both days we stayed, it was brought to our room, and we were given the choice of Japanese or U.S. traditional style. We had a very nice view of the ocean. There were two private barhs and they were both clean and partially open airbaths
