The hotel was pretty decent, seem to be recently updated. Location is absolutely phenomenal if you want to be downtown or are heading out on a cruise ship that leaves from right across the street! No amenities to speak of, but again it's really about location. Hotel is clean and rooms are reasonable. Staff were great.

We stayed at the Mai Tai at the end of our cruise so could compare directly with the Kon Tiki. Both have pros and cons. Mai Tai has convenient parking (if confusing to fine at first!). The room was not as nice as the Kon Tiki but the Mai Tai hotel location is great being in the centre of town and close to everything.

This is a very good hotel if you are just looking for an overnight stay in Papeete. The staff were very helpful and the room very clean and bed very comfortable. There is no bar and only a continental breakfast on offer. Perfect location if you are arriving or departing from a cruise here.
