6/10 Good

It was alright. It’s like you’re camping with a safe place to stay. You should bring your own firewood otherwise they will charge you. But there is a lot of sticks and wood laying around you can use if you pick it up yourself. The power went out so we didnt have lights at night, but it was an adventure. I would go again later in the summer. It’s not a luxurious experience but if you’re adventurous and like to do random things you will have fun. The horses were not there yet. It was a 3/5 for me. The road on the way there was absolutely terrible and dangerous for 15 km but we survived. Just drive slow and pay attention on the dirt road.

The picture that pops up when you check out the hotels.com site looks to be decades old and much better maintained. This lodge was very remote. You travel on a logging road somewhere around 10+ miles out. Upon arrival we found out from another couple that there was no electricity on the property that was working. Those same guests stated that there was an open drainage septic system in front of a cottage rental. Since there was not electricity, even though there was a kitchen, nothing worked. Another couple found an outside grill to cook dinner, but had to wait since there was no propane in the tank. There were 11 guest rooms upstairs with 2 shared bathrooms. None of this was presented on the website for the lodge. In the bathroom, there was a note posted that toilet paper was limited and the ladies were supposed to place used toilet paper in an open trash can. No hot water was available for showers. Around 11 pm, I was awakened when I heard a generator that ran for approximately 15-20 minutes. During this time we could see light under the door to the hall. The rest of the night it was just 3 camping lanterns. There was a total of 3 couples there that night, and we were the last to leave at 5 am. My opinion is that a young couple bought the property with the goal of fixing it up. Question is, are you willing to pay your money for very substandard lodging accommodations to fund this project.
