The positives = The hotel was clean. The location is ok. The desk is staffed. The bathroom was fine and has more than the usual offering soap, shampoo, a dental kit a comb. The negatives = The photos on the websites are much better than the actual rooms. If you get a room on the street it is VERY noisy from the Trolly line stop right outside. No elevator, which is normally fine but... The stairs, they are extremely steep and narrow. I can't imagine staying on any level above 1 or 2. DO NOT book their cheapest room. It is ridicuously tiny. It should only be sold as a single, not a double. They need to remove one bed and price it cheaper and I am sure that they would get a lot less complaints! The pictures of it do not even relate to how small it is! If you want to charge a phone or laptop there is a spot to do so on the wall next to the bed but there isn't enough room for a side table, no side table, so you have to set it on your pillow or your bed with you. You cannot walk around the bed, it just about touches the side walls. There is no where to open up and or put your luggage. They offer nice touches of a apple and piece of chocolate on your welcome pillow. But if you want coffee or tea you have to go down the steep dangerous stairs to get a free one in the lobby. No ammenities in the room such as coffee/tea making or mini fridge.

Helpful staff. Free coffee in the front. Room was small for 3 people but the shower was very good with great water pressure. You have to be prepared that there is no elevator and no air conditioning. If you have a large heavy suitcase, you will likely not enjoy bringing it up the very narrow spiral staircase to your room. The hotel is also about 30 min walk up all the major sites. It’s fine if you want to head out all day but if you’re the type to go back to your room in the middle of the day, you might find that slightly annoying, unless you are prepared to bike or take public transportation. We are walkers so we walked back and forth but we were pretty exhausted at the end of the day.

We appreciated the location and convenience of Alp Hotel. The staff was cordial and knowledgeable. Our room was small but this was not a concern for us as we spent the days and evenings exploring Amsterdam. The room and bathroom were clean. Housekeeping was available for those that needed it. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Hotel is well run and clean but we were given a ridiculously tiny room for two people, not at all as in the photos. Room should at most be considered a small single room at a much lower cost than we had to pay.
