Overpriced and Unorganized
While traveling for business we opted to stay one night on our trip home. After several miscommunications during check-in, leftover food in the fridge, used toiletries in the bathroom, and faulty keys; we questioned whether our room had even been cleaned. Bringing these items to the attention of the desk staff we were moved to a new and larger room and given a 25% discount. Thrilled to be on the last journey of our trip home we looked forward to a hot shower and some well needed sleep. Unfortunately for us it was anything but restful. The room was located next to an ice machine and underneath the hotel bar / dining area. We could hear people in the bar well after midnight and folks getting ice at all hours of the night. After a fitful couple of hours we were awakened at 5:45 am to chairs and tables scraping the floor, utensils, pots and pans clattering above us. Obviously staff was preparing for the hotels 'free' breakfast. We expressed our concerns the next morning to hotel desk staff and asked to speak with a manager. We were told the manager was not on duty that they could be reached at a telephone number and an email. The billing did not reflect our discounted room rate but we were assured the charges would be handled within a few days. To add insult to injury our email and phone calls have yet to be returned by management, nor has the billing for our discount been adjusted. A stay with the Riverbend is not one we will repeat, it was truly a terrible hotel experience.
