The property was nice and there were great balconies to hang out on and lovely people at the front desk. The electricity and water would turn off at random times. The pool and bar had a nightclub feel.

Staff were friendly but the property was kind of run down. The pool area was not well maintained. Location is close to a grocery store and walking distance to the market. Breakfast meal and service were good.

The location was good and it was nice to have a pool and bar on site. The staff was FANTASTIC! They were very helpful and available. We had a few power outages but the facility is very much in keeping with that part of Belize.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Midas. It’s an easy walk into town, the cafe onsite was excellent and good value, the staff were very helpful. The pool was great, and the tour company (Tukan) were a great choice for exploring Mountain Pine Ridge and its waterfalls and caves. Also great you can get cold purified water free from reception. Only slight irritation was some of my laundry was returned wet inexplicably. It had been sitting around long enough to have a smell and will need to be cleaned again.

Great quieter resort

The room was very nice and clean. The resort was in a great location on the edge of town so a little quieter area but you could still walk to things if you wanted. The pool area was fun.

Just loved the quiet, solitude of the little cabin we stayed in. Property is well maintained and tidy. Check in was a breeze. Also very helpful with joining us to a coffee shop that does Lattes, and told us how to get to the Mayan ruins near by.

Midas is a delight, with expansive grounds filled with plants and trees. There's lots of bird song and we saw a large iguana walking through. We stayed in a cabana which was quiet and pleasant. We enjoyed drinks at the pool and the breakfast buffet. Staff was friendly and helpful and the resident cat made us welcome. There's lots of good restaurants nearby. Recommended!

Convenient but secluded San Ignacio getaway

We had a really nice stay - with accommodations in the quieter bungalows in the back. (I'd recommend booking there and not in the main building - which is close to the parking lot and pool.) The back has a quiet foresty feel compared to the front which is on a main street. The hotel also has an adjacent nature preserve which It was nice to have breakfast available in the morning and the pool was a nice way to cool off. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location was good - close to the market, dining and the center of town. A couple of condition notes - in one of our rooms the bathroom sink wasn't secured to the counter. In our kids' room there was no hot water in the shower. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Felt more like a motel than hotel.

For the most part the stay was okay, but I had reserved for 3 adults and the space was small and only two towels that looked worn out were provided. The bathroom did have 2 packaged soaps but the shampoo was used and aside for an extra toilet paper there were no other toiletries, not even a face rag/towel. Bathroom wasn't thoroughly clean and had smears and mold on walls. I was also charged an additional check in fee at the hotel, which I was not aware about. I had stayed so much times there, that this was somewhat dissappointing.

The cabana that we stay in was clean, comfortable and nice. The pool have a whole to the left that you can go under the water and it open up into something like a sauna. Definitely going back. Only cons 😕 was that the net was down

Wonderful!

I loved my 2 nights at Hotel Midas! When I booked, I didn’t know I was getting a bungalow, but arrived to ding a spacious room and enormous bathroom with double shower! The pool and bar area are relaxed and low-key. Laundry was $10usd and was ready the following afternoon. While the hotel grounds are on the edge of town, it is only a 5 minute walk to the town market, and another couple minutes more to the Burns street area with shops, cafes and restaurants. Service was friendly and helpful and the grounds are lush and well-kept.

This property is a little tired/dated. It seems like they are working on updating. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The kitchen was out of many of the items on the menu. This was fine for the overnight. But would not plan multiple days here.

Location of hotel was great. We stayed in the main building and our room looked well used. There was cracks in ceiling. Staffing tried to charge us more for having additional people even though we called to inform them before our arrival. That was not cool!

Nice place

It was pretty good overall. The AC worked very good, clean rooms, fun pool. We took a early tour at 7am and their restaurant had our pre ordered breakfast ready at 6:30am. Perfect Grocery store and chiken restaurant across the street. We stayed at a family cabana ( 2 rooms ), There was a few issues, the hot water was not working in one of the bathrooms, The mini fridge wasn't working in one of the rooms. But since we were a big family sharing 2 rooms we managed, no problem. Overall I think is agreat stay, beautiful trees and plants in the property, we saw a tucan, hummingbirds, lots of birds and many iguanas. My girls loved the pool . Would stay again
