The hotel is cute, has a great placement and the staff is super sweet and helpful. The room was spacious enough, and everything worked as it should. However… this hotel is woefully underprepared for climate change. The room doesn’t have AC, or any other kind of ventilation. The staff was sweet enough to lend us a fan, but the room still became MIND-BLOWINGLY hot during the night. I measured around 31 degrees celcius one night, because there was no way for the hot air to escape, other than opening a window to a busy street, which helped little. The bathroom also doesn’t have any kind of ventilation, meaning taking a shower was a problem as there was no way for the hot air to escape. I’m sorry to say, that even though the staff did their best, I would never go back to this hotel, due to the heat. I honestly couldn’t wait to get out of there. Also, we came during gamescom, so the price was just absurd. We paid more than we did, when we stayed a luxury hotel after. 1200 euro for 4 days, in what is basically an economy room, is very expensive. My suggestion would be for the hotel to make the investment and get AC, because otherwise, as the temperatures keep rising, this place will soon become obsolete.

Minimal, But Updated and Clean Property

The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. The rooms were updated and well-appointed. There is no lift so keep that in mind if you have a lot of luggage. Shared bathrooms were clean and we generally didn't have any problems having access to them (did have to go to a bathroom on a different floor once or twice). We would stay again.

Had a great stay, excellent value for money. It’s simple but very clean and well cared for. My room at the back was quiet and the bed is excellent. Basically around the corner of Köln Hauptbahnhof and the cathedral Dom, so both practical and attractive for excursions. Not a very lively neighboorhood but that’s easily found nearby and provides a quiet rest. Will be happy to return!

Small room with no toilet nor shower in the room

I paid more than 100 €/night for a single room. There was no shower nor toilet in the room ! Way overpriced, but this was due to an exhibition taking place in Cologne. The positive point is that the persons at the reception are very friendly and ready to help !

Room was very clean, staff were friendly and helpful, building felt secure and the location near to Cologne main station was great. The room (single, shared bathroom) was as described. The shared bathrooms were fine - those staying on the top floor could use the bathrooms on lower floors which were roomier. There was a large sink in the room and soap / shower gel. I stayed during the 2026 heatwave (38+ degrees). There was no air-con but also no fans provided as it was explained this would overload the building's old electrics. This resulted in the rooms (at least on the top floor) being exceptionally hot, unpleasant to spend time in and impossible to sleep comfortably in as there was no way of cooling them down. This hotel would probably be fine to stay in during spring / autumn / winter (I can't speak for the heating) but I cannot recommend for a summer trip.
