8/10 Very good

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel de l’Ecluse. The property was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the bed was very comfortable. The location was excellent for exploring Neuchâtel, especially the lakefront, the Collegiate Church, and the castle area, all within easy walking distance. A couple of maintenance issues could use attention — the toilet seat in our room was loose and the shower drain cover kept coming off during use. The room was also quite warm at night. We were able to open the window to cool it down while sleeping, but there was noticeable traffic noise from outside. Overall, we still had a pleasant stay and appreciated the convenience of the location.

Nice hotel

The hotel was very clean and the staff was very kind. The location is not far from both the train station and the downtown (almost middle of the slope between the station and the downtown). The breakfast was not gorgeous but sufficiently good for me. Only the problem was no AC. The room was quite hot during my stay.

2/10 Poor

The meeting that I was schedule to attend in Neuchatel was cancelled a full six months before it was to take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic. When I attempted to communicate with the hotel both through Orbitz and directly to see if I could get a refund, partial, refund, or postpone my reservation until next year, my queries were met with silence. Clearly not a guest-customer oriented establishment. The kept the deposit and didn't say a word. Very poor customer relations.

Altstadt gut erreichbar in wenigen Fussminuten. Leider kein Parkplatz und keine Vergünstigung (mind. CHF 25.00 pro 24h in umliegenden Parkhäusern!)

I have booked this hotel because it said that I would have a mini kitchen. Upon check-in, I did not find any, so I asked the receptionist and she said "oh but we are fully booked and I cannot change." It was a disappointment. The room was very small as well.

Really nice Hotel with a nice room with a small kitchen. The view from the room was nice and the person in the reception was friendly and helpful.
