Our room was clean but the air conditioning worked poorly. Claimed that they would fix. Now to the positives: the pool is great, the restaurant is good, and the distance town center is reasonable. However, the front area is rocky with a bunch of trashed mattresses. Not the most beautiful site.

The Ugly. We had a fowl sewage odour emanating from the bathroom which got worse with time. Since we only stayed one night we kept the bathroom door closed and the windows open. I was also disappointed with the parking arrangement. The hotel charged 10 or 11 Euros per night to park in a tight un-drivable underground parking garage and knowing full well that the entrance was under construction. After one day our vehicle was so full of concrete dust that I couldn’t see out of the windshield. Normally I would have requested a refund, but the outdoor parking is scarce, and I couldn’t be bothered to spend the valuable time needed. The rest. Unlike the typical small boutique hotels within the walled city, this is a small resort style hotel. Our room and bathroom were spacious. The yard area with the pool is nice with the fortress wall in the background. The location is within a comfortable walking 10-minute walk to Praça do Giraldo (central square) of the old town. The front exterior area of the hotel is barren and unappealing.

The front desk staff (young man, forgetting his name) and Mr. Bond (the bartender) did an excellent job of welcoming us on the property. The rooms were spacious and overlooked the gardens. We enjoyed the view and the nice rooms. One discomfort we did face was the heating in the room and opening the balcony doors definitely helped but the morning outside noise did disturb us. Usually the nature sounds would be appealing, but after long day of walking and needing to rest and sleep in on vacation was compromised a bit. Overall, we left with a memorable stay. The area around the hotel itself is blah but the location is good as we can walk to the main square within minutes. Good restaurants and cafes in the main square.

Great location inside the town wall. Quiet at night.Has parking beneath the building for an additional fee. Clean rooms, well appointed, great breakfast. Short walk to town attractions. The hotel property around the pool and interior courtyard is well maintained. In front of the hotel is a poorly maintained green area, likely the towns responsibility, with piles of rubble and occasional trash. We received a late checkout upon request. I would be happy to return.

Clean room, but the website photos do not accurately depict the hotel's age, poor condition, and general unattractiveness. Staff were unhelpful and unfriendly, and the Wi-Fi kept dropping, so we had to use our own data. Shower pressure was good, but the tub didn’t drain, and water leaked onto the bathroom floor.

Just on the border of town center. Close to bus station and train station. 10 min walk from bus station. We stayed in a suite with separate living and sleeping areas. very spacious. Staff was friendly and helpful. Easy access to historic town center - 5 min walk. And a great breakfast with all sorts of things. Well worth staying there.

Lovely property by the ancient city walls in gardens with adult pool, separate pool for children. Hotel pleasing architecture and design. Floor 2 best for quiet rooms. Staff welcoming and helpful.
