Lovely traditional hotel in a great location. Comfortable bed, water in the room, plenty of towels, face clothes, and toiletries. Shower and bathroom were a bit small but perfect room for what we needed. Staff were extremely friendly

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sumner. The location is excellent, the neighbourhood has lots of great restaurants nearby, easy access to underground at Marble Arch. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is older but we found it very charming. The room was very spacious, which is helpful when you're here for a week. Breakfast was nice and the woman serving breakfast is lovely. The only negatives I have are that the mattress is truly awful, really old to the point it probably should have been replaced 5-10 years ago, and the bathroom really needs to be renovated. There were peel and stick tiles on top of the old existing tile floor that came loose and sent us flying a few times. We told the staff and they glued them back down but they really need to redo the entire bathroom. That being said, we really liked the property and would stay here again.

We had a great stay at The Sumner. The breakfasts were good and convenient and the staff was very helpful, calling cabs when we needed them, carrying luggage, getting reservations for us for meals, etc. It's also in a convenient location in London.

Staff was responsive especially the lady running the breakfast in the morning. Rooms need some deferred maintenance addressed but the room rate reflects that. The location is really good. Overall I'd book this joint again if I had to hit a budget in the Portman Square area.

This is a clean, comfortable boutique hotel perfectly placed in London. It is near Marble Arch, and you can get everywhere with public transportation. It is well worth including breakfast when you book. The breakfast bar had a great selection of foods, and the price was excellent; breakfast anywhere else in London would cost you way more. There is a pleasant sitting lounge on the ground floor. There are plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby, and if you are there for a while and need to do laundry, there are two laundromats close by.

Excellent location for adventuring through London, very close to the Marble Arch, Hyde Park, etc. Breakfast Attendant was very friendly and helpful. She remembered what we liked every morning and brought it right over to us.
The most delicious toast from the cafe. The Server called it "Brown Toast", but it was more like Multigrain, so yummy with Tea.
